BUT New revolver has more bullets to spare so we can yippie kai yay on these heretic mutha cluckas
Vets
Vets do, always have
The nerf isn't really bad, but keep in mind it's a nerf that affects Zealots and Psykers much more than it does precious little Veterans
Now with the new revolver you get 50k dps on Veterans, it's not even a hyperbole
But they will still be crying on every forums that they're so weak
Weakpoint damage stacking
I play Zealot with knife + old revolver. Honestly: new revolver doesn't sound appealing to me. It's not solving any problems, and the stance on it sounds like a waste of time. Wake me up when there's one that does 4x damage with a single round clip.
Why I use the revolver is it draws quick and packs enough punch to quickly sit down specials, mostly zerkers, trappers, busters, and snipers. As a Zealot you're going to be working revolver shots into your melee combos. Allows you to push straight through hard points when carving a path to the back line.
Tips for Zealot: learn to use sideways dodging for forward movement. It's pretty unbelievable just how big of a group you can stand in the middle of and not take any damage from if you're quick with movement. A good strategy is to blitz the ranged enemies in the group and make them put away their guns. Zerkers are your nemesis and get the big iron as soon as you see them..
Zealots
Zealots have a talent that gives you a buff when you empty a mag in your weapon to empty and the Revolver has only 5-6 shots so, it's easy to empty it, it's easy to keep it empty, it's easy to put a single round in, use it, get buffed because you just emptied the weapon, and keep fighting in melee with the buff on for a short time before you wash, rinse, repeat.
And yet the revolver has so little ammo, making it counter productive to use on a ranged focused class.
Don't get me wrong you can make it work but, it's much better on the Zealot, especially if you take the talent to capitalize on it.
Currently the new revolver seems more a trap/novelty and isnt as strong in either range or damage.
