The big yellow target is annoying AF to look at though but alas alas here we are
What is a Krak Grenade to a man with a Plasma Gun.
silly? yes. are the capstones bad? also yes - it is what it is.
Focus seems weak, at least on damnation where its hyper important you are moving and flowing into and out of melee.
Tagging is great, lets you break a lot of damage breakpoints on specialists and elites. try it with a high damage gun like a shotty or plasma, its busted.
Specialist skill is great, lets you get buffs and mix your weapons even better than before. Wouldn't say a ton of it's attached buffs are great though.
Marksman is really easy to stack since its any weakspot kill, so just shooting into a horde can get 10/15 stacks really easy. And they drop off pretty slow while moving.
Focus Target can make killing bulky targets easier, but not only that, you can provide 7.5-12% bonus damage to your allies with the right side modifier. What the node doesnt tell you, each tag kill refreshes the buff, so even if you tag an enemy with only 3 stacks, it will refresh the 8 stack buff (might be a bug though).
Weapon Specialist allows for the most flexability, giving you a strong melee buff since vets can struggle with melee at times. And taking it with Agile Engagement boost the keystone even more.
There's also another one that gives you toughness back when you swap weapons when you have the stacks. More toughness heals, especially on a melee-oriented Vet, is greatly appreciated.
The rest seemed a bit meh to me. Why bother having reload speed when I don't need to reload? And I already have infinite stamina due to getting 30% back on a dodge. The other two are great though so I'll happily just take them and invest my spare points in grenades.
more dmg to the elites + stamina and shield restoration after it dead + more dmg after it dead not only for you but team! legit good
not even gona mention that everyone will be focusing who you marked for buffs
Noobs never understand that nerfing is not the solution but making OTHER classes to their level is the way to go.
This way the game will freeze into only few usable one trick ponies and honestly even pre-rework there wasn't that much to choose from.
Now it's a complete joke and will get even worst, what a pile of steaming garbage this game is.
Nooo no one, i remember the powersword criers, the criers who kept saying easy mode veteran because it could one tap elites or criers cause there were 4 vets teams just steam rolling everything.
I kept hearing nothing but whining about veterans and now it got nerfed down to useless and the opposite happens, no one wanted this no one wanted that.
Weapons specialist however is great, helps crit builds and melee builds.
Not only they cost a buttload of points to even reach, but all of them are pretty thrash if not straight away huritng you/your team like the supergarbage focus target.
Sure, it works in low int sedition where there are 1 enemy per 10 mins so you can tag that single enemy.
In aurics?
Yea, there are 10+ enemies to be tagged, especially with specialist waves.
Not to mention it is the worse ability that was in VT2 for which hunter captain, who gave flat 20% to ANY tagged enemy....
Marksman focus?
I heared you like to move, so yea, dont bother, the damage boost is nonexistent as you are forced to move in high difficulties.
So you are left with weapon specialst which is the worst side of the tree with all the junk talents just to get there and doesnt offer anything super useful to waste 10+ points for it.
A great nerf on the already thrash veteran skill tree, but hey, at least they managed to fix a few bugs and give a super 2% extra damage on the joke aura...
