... Does anyone actually use the stealth abilities?
General opinion of my group is that they're just overall bad, especially compared to the other options Zealot and Veteran have. I used stealth a lot in Vermintide 2, but the big difference here is there's just SO MANY targets that the stealth is... Underwhelming.

If you do, what do you like about it and how are you using it?

Again, how? Why? What is the appeal?

I hear the correct method is to sprint forwards and then when you see lots of targets you pop stealth and keep running.

Honestly though, the main appeal will be the huge alpha strike capability and freedom of movement to pick off specials\elites

Well, they select the skill on the skill tree, then activate it with the key in game.

It's a good way to survive, avoid enemies, save downed team mates, avoid gunner lines, Crit/backstab monstrosities for massive damage.

See and in Vermintide 2 I would agree with you... But Darktide has so many Specials and Elites that the other options (Veteran's Volley Fire, especially) seem like they're just way better at it.

Thanks Sherlock.

You use stealth to draw aggro and then reposition to either deal damage or revive.

But doesn't this just suddenly dump aggro on your allies? And wouldn't using the shouts to keep your allies alive in the first place be more beneficial for the team?

Repositioning, safe revives and nuking out bosses, crushers and bulwarks.

It allows you to backstab the congalines of crushers and maulers that sometimes spawn. Also great for taking out large groups of gunners and reapers.

The Zealot is a speedy class so you can be at the front with the team and when needed stealth and sprint over to deal with any perceived threats. You're basically going back and forth all the time, guarding the team.

If there's an Ogryn around, they'll easily handle the front while you get behind the enemies for some stabby stabby fun.

One shot zealot for one. although the Veteran stealth I stay clear of.

I was really hoping Stealth Zealot would be like Shade from VT2, but once I realized that it's more of a support skill than a boss delete button, I got more mileage out of it. I can stealth past the melee Frontline to take out the ranged back line, I can pickup downed allies, I can step around a horde and make a pincer maneuver, or get that last objective. I think all of Zealots abilities have their place, charge is offensive, relic is defensive, stealth is utility.

No comment on Vet as I haven't played it enough.

Yeah, but it's no different than VT2 Shade.
You use stealth to drop crushers\bulwarks and massive damage on monstrosities.
Helps close distance to gunners.

And use it in emergencies for revive etc

Yes but it's not automatically bad depending on the situation.

And wouldn't using the shouts to keep your allies alive in the first place be more beneficial for the team?

The choice boils down to if you want to take a gamble on preventing a bad situation or recovering from a disaster so it depends on the team.
