I don’t use the Kantrael variant a lot but I feel like this blessing works well on all the shotguns.
You can probably run Full Bore on it as well if you can get all the pellets to land, but it might be a bit harder to do with that shotgun, unsure. At least the big targets will be hard to miss all pellets on, though.
Not sure if I've seen better blessing alternatives though.
this is facts
This. Full Bore is def the strongest shotgun perk that works for any of the shotguns. Works against all enemies at all ranges, both hipfire and ADS. No Respite can be replaced with either Fire Frenzy or Terrifying Barrage (<- one of the most underrated blessings in the game, especially when fighting huge crowds, it stuns enemies for a bit after you kill them in close quarters).
Flechette + Scattershot is a bit of a gimmick meant for mostly weaker enemies, but I guess it works. But I personally don't recommend it (just use it for a change of pace or something), because shooting only special rounds as Veteran is a bit weird. As Vet you want to shoot and switch targets as fast as you can, and loading a special shot every 5 seconds is not optimal, especially when 5 elites come at the same time and you could do much better just hitting headshots (yes, with shotgun).
For a Crit build Scattershot and either Flechette or Man-Stopper.
For a Zealot Close Range build No Respite & Fire Frenzy.
For a Veteran any combination of Scattershot, No Respite & Full Bore.
This sounds very interesting but the base damage of the Mk IX is so good, specially if you crit and the fire damage is so bad, even if you crit. I don't have the Flechette mod so I can't test it, but how much extra damage does one deal against a Bulwark Crusher? I usually use the fire rounds against those two.
Neither Bleed nor Burn nor Soulburn really is significant enough increase in DPS to be really worthwhile.
Bleed is interesting because it can trigger other things. Like the Ogryns damage resistance. Making enemies Bleed is very much more so a "i do it for the team" than a "i do it for the DPS".
The Flame shell does, provided you hit the Crusher trice with it, does 75 damage per second on a crusher and 198 damage per second on a Bulwark.
Bleed does 90 to 95 damage to both Crusher or Bulwark, provided you build to max stacks, which is a lot harder to test than you might think, given that you need to build enough crits.
All in all the Crusher likely is already half dead just from hitting it with crits before you even get close to max stacks. And that was also only with my Veteran.
For my Zealot it was half the amount of damage for the Bleed (about 45) and 15 damage for the Special "Dragon fire" on the crusher.
But 225 damage on the Bulwark (through the shield) for the fire and 213 for the Bleed (not through the shield).
The Dragonbreath Round is wasted on a Crusher, if you ask me. Of course, this was a Psykhanium test and you likely can get some damage bonis going in the mission. But even at double these numbers, maybe with exception of the Bulwark, i wouldn't waste the shells on a Crusher or Ogryn.
man-stopper says 'increased cleave on critical hit'
which actually means this
protip #2
terrifying barrage got an absolutely massive buff in patch 13 that was not listed in the patch notes
or even mentioned ANYWHERE
here is the previous T4 version of the buff
here's what it looks like now
the radius was increased by 50% (8->12)
it no longer has suppression falloff (true -> false)
the suppression value got increased; not as relevant since it was already over the threshold that causes basically every ranged trash enemy to cower in terror, but since enemy suppression decays at a fixed rate, this means it lasts longer
this secret buff also applies to the every version of the blessing on any weapon that gets it including
kickback
braced autoguns
infantry autoguns
shredder pistol
revolver
and all 4 psyker staff types
