Blessing confusion
So I surrendered a chainsword to earn the bleed blessing for a better chainsword, but when I go to re-bless the new chainsword, it says there are no options. What am I missing?

Ah…

There is a lock symbol next to the movement speed blessing on the “new” chainsword. No obvious reason why. In fact, looking at my other items, the blessings are all locked on them.

I had already changed the perks. Is this a thing? If you change the perks, do the blessings always become locked?

The lock thing is annoying. I was going to refine a curio to change a couple of the perks. I changed one and the last one became locked when it wasn’t before. This was v irritating as I was left stuck with the worst perk on the thing (block efficiency) locked.

Yes, you can only make a maximum of two changes to a weapon, then it locks out all the slots you have not changed.

You can still go and change the slots that you previously changed as many times as you want.

If you change both of the perks then you won't be able to change the blessings at all, and vice versa.

Thus a "god rolled" weapon requires a high modifier value, and one decent tier IV blessing & one decent Tier IV perk. That means you can then change the other perk and the other blessing into whatever you unlock later on.

In case by better chainsword you meant Eviscerator, they don't share blessings with regular chainswords.

In a brilliant move by fatshark, blessings aren't shared across weapon types.

blessings are earned per weapon class...
Example: Agripinaa, Graia and Columnus Infantry Autoguns is one weapon class.
Cadia Chainsword and Tigrus Heavy Eviscerator are two different weapon classes.

Exception to this rule are Force Staves, each one is their own weapon class...

I don't know if they maintain it well but here's a reference.

Nope I mean I got a higher value chainsword than the one I started with. Same type of chainsword but for some reason I am not able to re-bless it. I’m aware it has to be the same weapon type

Can't have two copies of the same blessing even at different levels.

have you upgraded it to the blue rarity?
Kotzi Nov 3, 2023 @ 2:20pm
1. It must have the appropriate rarity, so if its not purple or orange/gold, consecrate it.
2. You cant have the same blessing twice on one weapon.

Other than that it must be a bug.

EDIT: Great, that happens when you try to type and play at the same time, what the other guys above me said.

1. I broke down a purple chainsword with the bleed blessing

2. Got a new item, that is also purple chainsword, with a movement speed on rev blessing

3. It tells me I have no options to re-bless with. I can’t even click through my available blessings to see what I have

However, on the plus side, having played a few matches with it now I actually quite like the movement speed blessing so will probably just keep it.

Would like to know what’s going wrong for future reference though.

Have you already changed both perks on the weapon?

Did you press "Earn blessing" or just straight up dismantle it? Other than that, the only thing I can think of is you're confusing chainsword and eviscerator like someone else above said.
Le Hatch Nov 4, 2023 @ 5:27am
Well, if you are positive you aren't trying to put a chainsword blessing on a chainaxe, or a eviscerator blessing on the chainsword:

1. Are you sure you have enough currency for this action as a whole? It'll blank out entirely if you are flat out broke.
2. Have you made sure to look at the listing for the tier of the perk you initially sacrificed?
Zsrai Nov 4, 2023 @ 5:29am
You have to select the blessing you want to replace first. Then the list of available blessings appears.

That reference, unfortunately, does not show the difference between two weapon classes sharing the same blessing name.

So if you look up Shred, you'd get the impression that Tactical and Combat Axes are the same, when they are not.
