Slide keybinding
Newish player here looking to learn how to maneuver properly. Noticed the unassigned slide keybinding and assumed to be a command for sliding but it doesn't seem to be doing anything for me. I tried looking it up online but the only thing that comes up is people complaining about the toggleable crouch issue.

Is this a bug or am I missing something obvious?
Thx in advance

I am going to guess that Slide is when you run and crouch you will initiate a slide, so having slide on a key would forgo the crouch key... I guess? I doubt you can slide without running but I could be wrong.

Yes, sliding is when press crouch while running. I've noticed that people were asking for a dedicated slide button a while back so I assumed they got what they wanted. The keybinding for it is in Options/Keybindings/Movement, second to last place and comes unassigned by default. I've tried testing it in various ways but can't seems to get it to work.

Any insight on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

The best way I've found is to switch the shift key from sprint to (toggled)sprint. That way you don't have to fiddle with holding shift down and maneuvering a finger down to ctrl to initiate the slide.

have both sprint and crouch on hold instead of toggle, put crouch on a mouse thumb button, keep dodge on space and rebind jump to smth else(i personally put it on x), keep sprint on shift

Pro tip, Left Alt for crouch, for basically every FPS game (I usually do toggle on forward mouse, left alt for regular crouch). Much easier to slide your thumb off space than take your finger off Shift for sprint.

Thank you for your key layout recommendations. I have already changed the buttons to something that is more comfortable for me. My issue, however, is that there already IS a keybinding for 'SLIDE' in the options menu and it doesn't seem to do anything for me.

Does anyone know anything about that mysterious button?
Does it work for you?
Is it bugged?
Am I simply too dumb to press a button properly?
