Dreg gunner? Headshot is ~325, bodyshot? 500.... bruh
Same happens to the armored horde mobs, the dreg shotgunner, and reaper
The sad thing is that the Shovel is also affected by this.. at least its less of a huge difference.
And for some god unknown reason, the relentless attacks on the bully club mk2 and mk3 do massive amount of unyielding damage (~600 body, ~800 headshot). Yet the attacks meant to kill single enemies do like, 300 at best...
Though if you play a ranged ogryn, butcher knife (mk3 knife) is the best with confident strike, your gun is for elites and bosses, while the knife is for hordes
The shield is really great too but you are very slow with it, however the tank build with it where blocking taunts enemies is great. You force shooters (but NOT gunners! nor reapers!) into melee, which can take a huge amount of stress off the team.
Still would say (once fixed) bully club mk1 ogryn could do the same job as a shield ogryn, by running into the backline and killing everything. And its more fun than just hunking down the shield and waiting. (Since ogryn got more defence throught 3 nodes, he can actually duel a deamon host with other weapons now, given they have fast enough heavy attacks, removing that niche of the shield.)
Still fun to use the shield!
-High Maniac dmg.
-Fast attacks that stagger and hit Specials even among other enemies.
-High mobility allowing you to dodge Specials' attacks.
-Easy attack pattern.
However, Ogryn talents focus on improving Heavy attacks. The Bull Butcher has slow Heavies and a desire to spam Lights. Because of this, many people have transitioned over to the Krourk Mk 4 which has fast Heavies and retains the strengths of the Bull Butcher (except you need to learn attack patterns for both Lights and Heavies and combinations thereof).
Out of curiosity, which type of Ogryn are you playing? Skullcrusher, Bullgryn, Gun Lugger?
I'm playing bullgryn and am beating all the content, but it's just getting stale for me. It's my favorite weapon for sure on Ogryn , but sometimes switching it up reignites the classes for me. Haven't played with the other melees much since I started my Ogryn and wanted to check it all out.
With that said, I really recommend trying out Bully Club Mk 1 with Haymaker (and Thrust). Haymaker is much easier to stack and maintain now, so you're easily going to have a permanent 20% chance to one-shot human sized enemies on each heavy attack (this is basically all three Clubs' way to horde clear / AoE). Pair this with +25% dmg to Maniac/Flak for better Special/Elite clear, and suddenly you have a weapon with lots of stagger that's great against Carapace/Unyielding, can one-shot, and can even horde clear enough to keep you safe.
And again, the Krourk Mk 4 is basically the new and advanced Bull Butcher. Despite being the same weapon type (Cleaver) it feels different enough imo due to using heavy attacks that apply bleeds, regain lots of toughness, grant dmg reduction, and work with Thrust. Even just having strikedowns changes things up.
