and Zealots range weapon preferences in general for bot builds.
Best general weapon for the Zealot I think is the Laspistol. Otherwise just the Kantrael. The advantage of the first is primarily that you can swap to it when running when equipping a heavier weapon. Both do exactly what the Zealot wants: pick off enemies you must but can't reach without worrying too much about reloading or ammo economy.
Then give a better list and opinions. I'm sure anyone can beat any difficulty using some of the worst tools in the game, doesn't change the fact some are better, some are worse.
Sorry this post isn’t going the way you wanted it to go.
Literally not seen a single plasma gun so far, so can't judge. Since you would be using it I suppose Krak isn't completely mandatory. Outside that niche situation there's no reason not to just go Krak instead of anything else (unless there's some hidden tech to smoke grenades, not seen them used much either).
I like to go for things people don't like to use. :)
Anyway, yeah. Plasma really doesn't need much to scale, so you can focus on whatever is weakest on your melee-side. I picked Frags since they stagger bosses (and they're free CC during horde).
I *would* use smokes to make up for not being the one to shoot ranged-trash. But in every way I've tried to make them work, they do basically nothing. Sadly no hidden tech or off-meta usefulness. At best they're there to let you not waste another point on grenades, and/or lean on the third tree.
