How does Martyrdom work?
It says for each "missing wound" you get increases. But a wound is what you get when you go down... So is a missing wound just your starting health bar? Do you get more benefits the higher your health?

I would assume it means the opposite because it's called Martyrdom, and often players refer to how many wounds you have left to take as just wounds.

So, if it works by lost health, do you just need to be low health or do you actually need corruption to cover those wound sections? Because the perk is honestly awful if it requires that you go down and get revived 5 or so times to get half the stacks. That or you try to headbutt every poxburster.

Would appreciate clarification on how this works from anyone that knows, thanks!

Wounds are the individual health bars that you have so you gain damage for every corrupted or empty bar.

When you go down you lose a wound.
A "Wound" is the segments of your Health bar.
If you get +Wounds via trinkets or the Zealot skill your health bar becomes even more segmented despite being the same max hp.
For each segment that is empty or corrupted you get the buff.

Ok. Mainly I was hoping it worked on just empty bars as well as corrupted ones. Otherwise, yeah, it'd be encouraging players to basically die repeatedly and have their allies revive them, haha.

Basically, the amout of hp you have are divided by your number of wounds for the matyrdom threshold. For example if you have 200 hp and 5 wounds for every 40 lost hp you get an stack of matyrdom.
Or visually speaking for each "segment" or wound of your health bar turn black you get a stack.

Wait, so wound and corrupted are two completely different things? I thought purple colour was corruption so wound=corruption.
Or I'm very bad at reading.

You get a wound corrupted by going down, or by taking enough corruption that the entire wound bar goes purple.

It does.

That's the confusion, hahaha. The description of the skill says you need 'missing wounds' which is the worst way to word it since that has 3 reasonable interpretations. One being, you have to not have any wounds (being downed) so you get the bonus on full health. One being, you have to have missing health past the wound markers on the health bar (the correct one). And the last being, you have to have wound sections blocked off by corruption (which is what happens when you go down and are revived).

The correct answer is that missing health past the wound markers counts, including corrupted health. So basically, the lower your health and the more wound markers you have the more bonuses you get.
