Darktide vs. Vermintide 2
If you do a side by side with Darktide and Vermintide 2, roughly how much %-wise does Darktide hold up to Vermintide 2. Meaning content, classes, crafting, etc.. I pretty much wishlisted the game since the announcement, however I got burned too many times to preorder games or buy them day one.
Do the classes / builds feel distinct enough? Can you min / max with crafting? Etc. etc. Many points to consider and feel free to throw in yours. I just want to play a game has reached a point of playability / polished gameplay loop close to Vermintide 2.

Please enlighten me.

70~%. I personally enjoy Darktide more, especially now that talent options are plentiful. But Vermintide 2 has significantly more content. More maps with very minor reused sets, more meaningful weapon variety, a third enemy faction, the roguelike mode for those who enjoy it.

I only prefer Darktide more because of how the raw gameplay loop has more extreme moments. In VT2 I always feel a situation is easily readable and it lost that charm of excitement for me. In Darktide there's always more gunners sneaking up, the specialists deploy faster, and overall feels like a chaotic warzone.
you really stuggle as you have to compare base game darktide as it has had 5 years of updates that darktide hasn't while v2 is probable overall better due to it's update i would say that DT is 80% of DT. the game's have had both shake releases, and v2 only really became good like 2 years in.

60% at best.
Lacks red weapons, chaos waste mods, way more classes, free cosmetics that don’t look like crusty soiled prisoner clothes, maps that actually feel different. And likeable characters.

You're going to have to wait a couple years more. They haven't even added in any new content yet, just been focused on fixing the game and padding up the previously shallow mechanics to something mediocre.

Maybe in another year or two we'll actually get new classes as promised and a trickle of other content like maps, specials, and weapons.

Thing is, it shouldn't be anywhere near Vermintide. This was and should be an evolution forward for them, not a match for Vemrintide, though honestly they failed even that.

I just quit the VT and won't look back,
Even now Vermintide2 is a much more complete well developed product and I can absolutely recommend it.
Dark Tide I actually enjoy the moment to moment gameplay more. It has (in my opinion) a better sound track and the theme is stronger (and I say that as a WH:f fan more than a 1h:40k fan).

However it still feels VERY incomplete. No solo play. No ability to customise the bots (and you will be seeing the bots at this point forward). No ability to select missions beyond the random rota on the board (though there are at least more options now). And some of the weapons still just don't quite do what they feel like they should.
Also the new progression system, while a DRASTIC improvement in terms of build verity and options, has some blatant exploits which will no doubt need a long strong of balance patches.

But to be honest I don't think the game going to improve much from this point. Perhaps the console launch will bring boatloads of profit and thus more content. But generally I think the player base is going to decline (and console players are WAY less helpfully communicative in a match so probably worse to have as the majority of randoms), so you're probably better of playing now than waiting if you want to play at all.
If Vermintide 2 still had the power and playstyle of its original beta I might still be playing and greatly recommending it. That said, it doesn't, and as a thought exercise maybe if it had all along I would become bored of that as well

Darktide is coming along. This update is very promising in terms of gameplay. Now need more variety of maps, etc
