Having tried the vets now, my very first build proved they are just as OP as all the rest. By first build, I assume you know that statistically the odds of me hitting anywhere close to its true potential are astronomically low, so I can't even imagine how strong vets will be with an actual proper build with post-patch gearing considering most of the stuff I had has all been changed to the point where we now need a completely new set of gear, perks and blessings.
From the way vet feels now and how the talents look, the biggest fundamental change now is that vets can no longer just pick a Power Sword with Power Cycler & Slaughterer and instantly be both the strongest ranged and close to strongest melee both at the same time as before. Instead, now you actually have to choose what you focus on. And if you pick a pure ranged class like vets always were before, it will come at the cost of lower melee viability.
Just as it should be.
Good news; none of them are!
I always ranked Eviscerator S tier above Power Sword, but now it's funny that people are now envying the chain weapons. It used to be the other way around
Well, I never liked the Power Sword, so perhaps you have a point OP. However, it may be fun when slotted into a variant of my current Vet build, that is run and gun laser with melee buffs and Voice of Command stagger
It will play much like a melee Psyker except possibly better
I can also guarantee that there'd be a small subset of people claiming that it's "fair and balanced", and that balance is overrated.
My run and gun melee which I've admittedly only played a few times on Damnation so far (forgot patch was Tuesday lol and have a job), uses Catachan Mark IV sword, Recon laser, and Krak grenades
Krak can one shot Damnation Crushers
