Best Armor Busting Perk?
Out of the 3 contenders of +25% damage to

Flak armor
Carapace Armor
Maniac

What do you think delivers the most bang for the buck?
Weapon in question is the Mk VId Recon Lasgun, on a Krak grenade Vet.

One question i do have is, does armor rending bypass enemy armor? As in, would +25% Unarmored enemy damage be the one to take if i have rending?

Flak Armor and Maniac are staple traits both. They are both very prevalent. Carapace not so much; and even with fully speccing into rending it's just too situational to yield anywhere near the value the other two give you.

It really depends on where you're going with it. If you want to shoot muties all the time it might be that you get more value out of Maniac. Flak on the other hand is almost everywhere, from basic shooters to gunners.

For most weapons its either going to be maniac or flak, carapace is for specialized weapons like the thunder hammer or plasma gun etc, and even then you have to dedicate the whole weapon to it to make it worth the cost on average.

You should be picking whatever helps you hit breakpoints for your weapon.
Unwieldy and/or Carapeace, on a MkIII Hellbore with Onslaught and Surgical. but with high sight it depends on if your focusing down Manics or other eliltes Carapeace is pretty good for Most of the elitles but Flak and Manic could be substituted in depending on what your play style is and if you play in a pre-set team, Manic enemies and Maulers can be taken Care of in Melee most of the time or by the ogyrn. one can 2 shot a Crusher with a 75% Damage on a Crit without much problem. on Damnation. but issue do come down to how accurate your shootng is.

honestly all three can be taken care of with the skill tree. top right second perk rending, think its rending could be something else. on critical hit.
increased crit chance and damage then also have the removed ammo consumption on critical hit.

*Unyielding. I would personally ALWAYS go for Unyielding and never Carapace, and both are situational as is.

Caparace is terrible for "most elites". Elites include gunners, who are by far the most prevalent unit in the game - and half of them wear flak - not carapace.
Flak and Maniac are better than Carapace and Unyielding in most cases.

It all depends on Breakpoints.

Hell is the weapon isn't a primary but a Horde Clearer Unarmored and Flak or Unarmored and Infested can be useful.

Carapace is only for Crushers, (Maulers you just don't target the head)

Unyielding is for Bosses and 2 orgyns.
