What does "always dodge" do?
Don't really understand this setting from the description.

Edit:
i don't know if i'm being extremely stupid or if everyone here is talking about something different from me.

In the options menu there are three options for dodges. One activates dodges without directional input, simple enough. The other activates dodges on diagonal forward inputs, simple enough.

The last one is called "always dodge" and its what got me confused. since im on controller would that mean i cant jump anymore since any press of the dodge/jump button is always a dodge?

Activates proc´s from blessings and talents, mainly.

Procs? Blessings? Talents? What does any of that have to do with dodging? I'm new to the game
I also don't know what that does. Thought that I only nedd to hold Dodge and just tap the direction but that didn't work.

It allows you to dodge backwards when you are running forwards and press the dodge button.

Unless you have dodge bound to the same key as Sprint, like me.

Isn't that the other option with double tap dodge to dodge backwards? Found a mod that allows you to dodge with double tap so I can use it in tandem.

There is a "Stationary Dodge" option that works similarly, but when standing still.

With both options enabled it essentially means that whenever you hit dodge, you'll always go backwards unless you're holding left/right.

Ok, makes sense. During a live game I sometimes dodged back and thought that I double tapped dodge. But I deactivated both options now.

Thanks! Do you happen to know how this works on controller since dodge and jump are bound to the same key?

I tested it with dodge and jump bound to the same key on a keyboard and it made it impossible to jump forwards whilst running :D
It's the same on PC, put jump to C because I jumped around while panic dodging. I think you can change the mapping in the .ini
Simplified: When you are in the "dodge" state, you dodge most ranged attacks you're running ACROSS, but not towards or away from. This is to encourage flanking and is hugely beneficial for backstab builds. It also lets you proc the perk that gives you a boost for attacking after expending your stamina or the the perk that grants stacks (I don't recall of what) on successful dodges.

Wouldn't that be the option to dodge on diagonal forward inputs? Or does this mean you also dodge straight forward?

I think there may be some people confusing the setting with the perk in the talent tree that grants you "always on" dodge when sprinting.
avoid attacks like Ranged and melee. Dodge backwads Sides wards are how sprinting will count as a Dodge if your a zealot.

I have no idea what you're saying.
