With that out of the way I suggest either Inf Mk 1 for it's high damage profile and pierce 1 soft target or Inf Mk 5 for it's insane dps with high firerate and ammo count.
Both of which work well enough in close range hipfire tho Mk 5 feel better if you just want to hold own left click with Mk 1 need you to control your burst a bit.
The other autoguns did finally get buffs though and are not horrible weapons at all. The Columnus is basically a Krourk stubber with less Maniac and Unarmored damage. Graia is like an auto pistol with a range slightly better than a fart but not by much.
which mk8? graia or agripinaa?
all three feel so good on vet... yes, even the VIII that became my go to for auric on sharpshooter
Agrip. Did they actually use Mk8 twice with the braced autogun marks? Man the naming system is a mess.
Generally never having to worry about ammo was a huge plus side with Scrounger running and in coherency for the Graia Mk4
Anyways, I Tested the Agripinaa Mk VIII in the Test Area and found out it has the ability to penetrate(Cleave) Targets which never occurred to me that was the issue i never realized the Gaia MK4 had and started making sense why i wasn't really thinning out hordes as fast before they hit melee range.
Agripinaa Mk VIII has the highest Base Damage of the braced autos As far as i know.
Now I'm attempting to far for a good Mk8 Agrip and hoping for the best, though i think i'll still take the Gaia out now and then for the sheer amount of fire it puts out.
Side note if you like the Aimed Autos the Starting Agrip Mk1 has Cleave as well and hits the hardest of the aimed Auto's while the Graia Mk VIII is extremely controllable but does not get Penetration so using it on hordes to thin them out isn't really a good option.

Best on paper standing still: Agripinaa Mk1 IA or Graia Mk8 IA
Best on paper moving: Columnus Mk5 IA
if you intend to stand still or crouch while firing full-auto, braced and infantry are relatively equal
