I honestly can't remember I haven't used it since the early days of release.

It's the attack pattern. That's the big difference between most marks of the same weapon type in game.

The III is more comfortable for hording but has a garbage damage profile. The VI is more difficult to learn to use properly but is monstrously superior in effectiveness, as well as being capable of activating while blocking.

Here is a great video on the subject if you are interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggcSlbYWTn4 There are a lot of nuances involved that would take me forever to type out.

Your III can activate while blocking. You will not be blocking. The activation on the VI Is so short that you can activate between the swings of a rager combo and will still count as blocking. The III cannot do this.

Talking in circles about the same thing and overcomplicating simple stuff into oblivion. Charge > Attack > Block > Dodge > Repeat. Thats the whole "complexity".

Clearly it went over your head, but that's okay I'll still revive you.

i like the cool lil block stab down strike tech but kinda pointless to worry about with krak grenades on crack in abundance. Also for harder targets revolver is a two tap to head 3 tap to body. 1 tap in vf with 2 seconds of ads via surgical t4.

IV for smoother swings.

I was a big fan of the power swords then switched to the chainsword and loved it a hell of a lot better. THEN, even though I've been playing since launch, I discovered the Antrox Combat Axe and will never go back to those puny swords. Light attacks that just shred through everything and don't charge/rev up ♥♥♥♥. Even after the rager buff, only 3 quick light attacks. Mutants only 2. It just wrecks and clears hordes just as well in my opinion.
Only issue with the axe is it's a slight longer time to block withe it and it's longer range of motion that the swords make it so when meaning to push a burster that's hidden in a horde you sometimes hit it with a swing and blow it up. But that's just a change in play style ya gotta get used to.

Mk VI has different charging up animation that transition well into block or from block, making your special atack safer overall in a heat of battle. And the animation is faster than Mk III i think.
Plus all of the above.
