It counts as heavy as far as it refreshes your heavy hitter, etc it doesn't do normal heavy attack damage.
● Special Action (initial punch) Base Damage (0%, 80% Damage Stat):
○ 1st Target: 170, 306 to 50, 50.
○ 2nd Target: 30, 30 to 0, 0.
○ 3rd Target: 5, 5 to 0, 0.
This is where they went terribly wrong.
The shot does less damage on carapace, way more on unyielding, slightly more on flak, same damage for maniac and infested damage doesnt matter as both pretty much oneshot the three enemies that have that type, though you likely just miss the hound/pox burster due to their rather far away fall back when they get hit.
It still consumes 1 ammo if you do the special attack.
The shot of the special attack can just straight up miss the target if youre not right up in their face (this happened to me a lot while just testing the damage in the meatgrinder).
Does less stagger than a regular shot (maulers fall on their as with a direct hit, with the special attack they just stagger to the side), you cant even open bulwark shields with it... while the regular shot can.
The only real reason to ever use the special attack, is against bosses and the Reaper and bulwarks that doesnt have their shield out.
Otherwise you use your melee instead of the special attack if the above cases arent present.
And I tested the damage on damnation.
yeah that is dumb
