Windows 11 taskbar appearing mid game

I recently updated to windows 11 and played darktide for the first time. It seemed to run okay but on 2 separate occasions the windows 11 taskbar just appeared over the top of the fullscreen game. I had to press alt enter and tab back into the game to fix this. Is there a shortcut key I could have accidentally pressed to cause this? Not sure why this would happen as this never happened in windows 10 even with the taskbar not set to automatically hide.

Over the years I've had this issue a number of times. The solution can be different each time. I suggest you google the problem and go step by step.

For some reason I'm having issues where windows 11 will seemingly randomly alt tab to the desktop while I'm gaming. It has done this fairly consistently in several games. I just got it to do it twice in the space of 15 minutes in overwatch 2. I don't understand what setting might be causing this but if I can't find a solution I'll be forced to roll back to windows 10.

This, like the previous issue, has 50 solutions to it. :P So you're just going to have to troubleshoot and do it step-by-step till you find a solution. A quick search suggested that you run the game in borderless window.

People also suggest you have a look at what programs are running in the background as they are likely causing windows to swap focus making you go to desktop.

Could you have a Windows program, process, or alert activating while you are in game? Once I had my VPN asleep for 15 minutes and it activated in game and the game went from full screen to boardless mode.

In game press FN and F10 press and hold together and it locks the game you won’t be able to alt tab or have any background anything pop up over your game screen
