I mean it makes sense. Everything I've seen from hedge makes them come across like a garbage-mouth jackass. Replacing the person who's actively harming their brand with someone (literally anyone) else strikes me as a good move. I guess there IS some event horizon of bad will significant enough to make even Fatshark will try to present a better public face.
"Catfish" was replaced instead of "Aqshy". Her face was everywhere aswell with every post.
The only thing I noticed is that both of them have red hair.
Developer, rather than a community rep? Well, that's significantly worse. Although I've not seen Hedge around the forums for a while. Maybe Fatshark have come to the conclusion that developers who are terrible at dealing with the community should do more developing and less community management. One only hopes.
He and other devs are very active on the VT2 forums specially on the bug/technical section; Those 2 subforums don't exist here, go figure.
I am not defending him or anything but look at all the posts here, do they deserve a reply from a dev or a company rep? I guarantee you one post or reply from a dev and the whole community is just going to ♥♥♥♥♥ on them and every post will be locked.
They know that this is a mess and wasn't ready for release but will they admit? better go silent for a while I guess.
Just like others, I am mad at the current state of this game and want it to be better, that's all.
No, that's what I'm saying - I would rather Hedge not respond to people in the forums. The last thing we need is more "hot takes" from a person like that. The game is better off with Hedge sticking to their lane and discussing development subjects, rather than ♥♥♥♥-posting on the game's community and social media sites.
Seeing a face behind an account or company helps build trust and make them relatable. People want to know they are talking to real people and if the company can get you to trust and relate to that person it makes interactions smoother.
Thats it. Its a simple part of business.
Its just that Fatshark took like 15 years to do it so now they gotta double down on it.
So now Aqshy is the face behind VT2
and
Catfish is the face behind Darktide
BTW Im not shooting shade at either of those people. So far they have been some of the most reliable people at the company. Lev, Julia, Aqshy, Catfish, and even Hedge are all very responsive and easy to talk to and frankly I dont envy their jobs of having to deal with internet people for a living.
because they are adding simps to their targeted demographic along with whales
SIMP'S & WHALES should be fatsharks new slogan
