i really like to play the gorgonum its really fun to just keep shooting forever, buts its really bad against ogryn sized enemies, especially carapace armor and i see myself struggling against crushers, what other weapons can i take for armored enemies?

Rippers with can opener blessing(-armor on stub)
Alternatively you can keep your stubber but run with mk1 club with t4 haymaker(20 % chance of enemy instant kill on heavies), good against crushers, decent against hordes too

Grenade launchers (both gauntlet and tube) are the most effective ranged against crushers. Everything else is a waste of ammo, better switch to melee.

Depends on what you expect your gun to do...

So you want a jack of all trades weapon... well that doesn't exist. The Rumbler and Grenade Gauntlet come close but everyone else on the team will despise you for using them, because you are blinding everyone with the explosion and disperse the enemies in the entire area. But they will work well against Hordes and Crushers.

If you like run and gun then Ripper guns are probably something you should try. The different types of Ripper Guns have different shot profiles and that is probably what you should pick it based on.

For me personally... i find it hard to justify going into a match with something that isn't my Kickback. Yes, its not a killing gun, but you are absolutely able to Crowd Control an entire area with a few shots, giving everyone time to get in position, pick off specials without fear or advance on the enemy shooting gallery. The Kickback saved so many high intensity runs i have been in, and as consequence i always miss its utility whenever i play my Ogryn, but didn't bring it. But, people that want their ranged weapon to murder things will heartily disagree with this weapon as "best weapon", and i can understand that.

The only weapon type if find hard to justify is the Stubber. Its wasting a lot of ammo and leads to bad habits by Ogryns using it, as they end up being glued to their Stubbers and wasting ammo on Poxwalker and Groaner hordes.

My favourite is the kickback. Ultimate utility. Ultimate stagger. Ultimate gib potential.

There really is no "best" in Darktide. There is "best for you". Play with ALL the weapons and find one with an attack pattern you jive with, same with ranged. Play with them all and find the one that fits the role you need it to.

Anyone telling you "you're doing it wrong" when you're having fun winning with something they don't agree with is just a gatekeeping toxic prick.

The kickback for sure.

You can do a magic trick by turning all of the Emperors enemies into a mist at the click of a button
Deal with everything but Carapace armor and very far range - ripper mk 2
Deal with everything but very far range - ripper mk 2 with can opener
Deal with everything but Carapace armor with slightly better range - gorgonum stubber
Deal with everything but toss things around a lot - rumbler with shattering impact

Ripper guns MkII and V are the best all rounder, you just need to pop on can opener and then you'll have a tool that can kill every enemy in the game. You could also go GG if you wanted to focus more on elite killing, or if you use a club my favorite is the kickback. The stubber is good as well, but in my opinion they're worse options compared to the ripper guns.

1. Gorgonum Mk IV Twin-Linked Heavy Stubber with "Charmed reload" and "Blaze away" blessings.
2. Foe-Rend Mk II Ripper Gun with "Blaze away" and "Terrifying barrage" blessings.
3. Lorenz Mk VI Rumbler with "Adhesive charge" and "Shattering impact" blessings. It deals just absurd damage on direct headshot impacts.

ripper mk2 has been my favorite for a while now. does the damage I need it to do at a reasonable speed, also certainly not the best but isn't terrible at dealing with ranged targets from a fairly long distance, and the satisfaction I get from wiping an entire horde in a matter of seconds with a single mag... I feel tingly every single time.

it's just a great all rounder type gun. if you run can opener on it, you can run any melee weapon without needing to worry too much about being weak to crushers since a few stabs with the ripper and unloading some shots into them will do the trick just fine.

if your favorite melee weapon happens to be a club paired with the skull crusher blessing to make your swings kill crushers faster, then you can replace can opener with just about anything like fletchette for extra DoT with crit bleed stacks.

My Friend calls it the inconveniencer.

Kills things at close range but just knocks them over repeatedly at range causing them the inconvenience of standing back up and taking 5 more inconveniencer shots until somebody waddles closer enough to kill them.

It is ultimately down to your playstyle I have had some people sya this or that is the best but I end up using it and it just feels clunky or doesn;t fit my aggresion. Examples of this is: Voidstrike staff, Bolter, power sword all feel clunky s ♥♥♥♥ to me

As Noob Helper said, it's definitely down to your playstyle, and even skill, which I like. I main Ogryn and seem to be the only one using Ripper Mk VI, which I swear by personally. I use the MK VI unbraced to deal with random close armoured enemies but it's the three burst braced mode that makes it a team saver, with mods that increase its power and the like. Finally, it's capable of doing damage at long range, it's not ideally suited to it of course, but I can, if needed, deal with that sniper, and I often do.

Exactly this is why Trauma staff, Deimos, Tac axe, shovel, Slug shotgun, etc work amazingly with my palystyle: fast aggressive and precise and all rounders. I like building my classes to suit all situations so 1 crusher won't be my down fall because I didn't bring any AP. I also build for team stupidity and the ability of self sustaining because its best to never trust your team xD
