I figured out why Vets hate GunPsyker

We dont hate gun psykers specifically, we hate psykers in general.

I mean I could see how a teammate undermining a more efficient way of dealing with a threat would be annoying. I also don't play Vet and find gun psykers annoying for a variety of other reasons. Hell, I had a lobby last night where everything looked on the level (2x Zealot, 1x Ogryn, 1x Psyker) except that after everyone else had readied up the Psyker switched from using a staff to using the autopistol. I also had a later lobby (2x Zealot, 1x Vet, 1x Psyker) where a gun psyker used 2x as much ammo as the rest of the lobby combined (started EVERY encounter on white ammo and ended it on yellow or orange) while contributing nothing of value as in the rare moments they weren't trying to mow down trash mobs they were usually horizontal. Look, I understand that some people enjoy these builds but from my perspective it's a phenomenally unfun teammate to play with and the people running gun psyker builds are usually absolutely trash with the class.

I hate your stupid blinding blue fire, I hate your anoying voice lines about your beloved and your inability to use your staff at the right times. I hate you "haha i am a crazy guy" anoying sibling conversations.

I hate that I have to stop shooting because the guy I am aiming at head turns blue breaking my concentration. I hate that you're made of glass and always go down costing everyone in the team hp to save you. I suspect all of you psykers are Matrix/Neo long leather coat wearing cosplaying cringe geeks, and I hate it.

I hate everything about you freaks, the zealots was right all along.

Yeah, and that's usually a waste of ammo too excepting in cases of the more dedicated CC weapons like the flamer or stubbers that are going to be more ammo efficient in mowing down trash mobs than an autopistol.

I also, relative to frequency of encountered, see far more gun psykers spray and pray at trash mobs than I do out of any other class/weapon combo.

There's a simple reason why i rather use guns than staffs: I just don't like the staffs.
Also, i came from Vermintde 2 as a Footknight main and in Darktide i like the Veteran best with psyker in second place.
All 3 classes focus on taking out specials and elites, and i can take out multible long range specials faster with a Kantrael MK12 than with the Brainburst.
Brainburst is for Ragers, Maulers and Ogryn enemies, gun is for the lesser stuff.

I feel the same way because they interfere with casting BB since I would have to waste more time venting instead of doing ~5 BB casts, switching to a gun and letting the % go down passively while I deal with shooters. The staff options are also so limited that they get boring faster than using the Boltgun or MG XII on Veteran.

Since you won't blow yourself up if you drop below 95 or 96% Peril before initiating the BB you are probably better served with a Talent like Mind In Motion and forgo using either Staff or Gun.

Mind you, mind in motion doesn't necessarily need to be part of your build... but not like there are better picks on that level anyway, and you are more mobile while dropping those 5% peril to you can BB another time.

I mean it's usually not necessary but it's certainly less wasteful than an autopistol.
