This is the same tactic I use when targeted by the aggro of any Monstrosity in addition to quickly applying and maintaining burn stacks on them with my Purgatus, but it's substantially harder to do than with any other save for the Daemonhost due to the Chaos Spawn's remarkable speed and aggression.
Honestly, the introduction of the Chaos Spawn does a great deal to further the case of Traitor Captains, Beasts of Nurgle, and Plague Ogryns deserving significant buffs. The latter 3 as they currently stand aren't bosses. Bosses should be especially meaningful threats on their own not merely massive sponges that are only threatening because they distract you from other lesser enemies spawning in that you've already been painting the walls with up until then.
Plague Ogryns are easy to dodge. BoN are like.. just easy to bait into leaving themselves vulnerable or kiting them. Captains are a mix of block, dodging and spacing depending on what they do.
Chaos Spawn for me right now sorta just is "I never thought a flailing sack of meat could be so combat effective." xD
Advice for any class is nice. I know that Hammer is a clean and efficient kill but that's not what I always have!
There are several things like this, including aggressive Ogryns and Zealots in general. Sometimes the hesitation of teammates to get into the fray, instead taking potshots at shoters, is what ruins runs. A frontliner-ogryn with a psychology degree going to town can really rally a team and promote some much needed aggression
