It might get one, but I can't really see that Tyranids are it. They would need to replace all the enemies in a level with them, since they can't really mix with the Nurgle followers.

6 months to copy Chaos Spawn from Vermintide 2. I doubt a complete all enemy replacement is coming anytime soon, if ever.

In the official lore of the game, Darktide is what the Imperials call the forces of Chaos & Xenos who are attacking the Moebian sector.

In-game voice lines further mention sightings of Eldar pirates and also talk of Genestealer cults.

It's simple banter to add depth to the universe, so Atoma doesn't feel like the only place in the galaxy, dark eldar raids are commonplace almost everywhere on the Periphery and not necessarily take place near Atoma.

For Darktide, going with how they had the factions as allied in VT2, i think the one that would work but could introduce fun mechanics and units are the other Chaos Cults

Darktide, right now, is struggling just to survive. Unless something major happens with Darktide's numbers, there's no way Fatshark will invest in creating a whole new faction to fight.

Consider that it's been almost a year, and we haven't seen a SINGLE plot update.

Darktide, right now, is struggling just to survive. Unless something major happens with Darktide's numbers, there's no way Fatshark will invest in creating a whole new faction to fight.

Consider that it's been almost a year, and we haven't seen a SINGLE plot update.

We have seen several missions since launch that have updated the plot. You have to pay attention to the voice lines of the mission briefers and player characters. The advancing plot is about finding out another traitor aboard the Mourningstar.

Yes, but I was replying to a comment that said the premise of the game is that Atoma is being invaded only by Chaos, and that isn't the premise. The very title of Darktide means both Chaos & Xenos invasions.

Hive Tertium is only being invaded by Chaos forces for now, but that's not the entire planet.

Well in all fairness we did see some small updates

But I don't think it matter at all, that just said that while they have Orks affectionados and want to make games with them, they aren't going to be for this time, so I think that they will appear, but in the farther future, in a new stand alone game.

Genestealer Cults is my best bet. There are many mentions of them in character dialogues. They fit perfectly into Darktide's vibe and lore-wise and their tactics in lore fit perfectly into the horde gameplay of Darktide.
