Make Every Shot Count penance

Is this thing still working? I've probably finished 20 runs with 0 ammo at the end with the plasma gun, 4 or 5 in penance groups that we ran specifically for penances, and I have yet to get it (that excludes all the previous runs pre-plasma gun where I thought I'd done it and hadn't). I'm a pretty poor shot, I get that, but I'm firing into heresy/damnation level hordes and ogryns (and monstrosities) and I can tell when I miss, but I can't believe in 20 tries, being conscious only to fire into crowds and large/hard targets, I haven't gotten 90% hits in even one of them.

It works. You only have to empty the gun once to 0 and then just put it away for the rest of the run. Any ammo you regain from your passive will not count towards having ammo left at the end so you don't have to worry. You can even swap to it and reload it and it will still count the penance as completed as long as you emptied it once and didn't miss.

Just be patient, overcharge the shots so you empty faster and you could even consider rolling some plasma guns to get one with low ammo count to make it a bit easier.

Might be an issue with Bulwark shields if you've been shooting them.
Despite the blue marker, they count as miss for every other gun as they do 0 damage (boss shields count, as it does damage).

Knowing FS, despite shooting through them with the plasma gun and eventually doing damage, I wouldn't be surprised if they count as misses and it actually only tracks the first impact as hit/miss for purposes of the penance.

I have finished like 20 runs (like I mentioned in the op) having emptied my gun to 0 and no luck which is why I brought it up. And, sure, it's not wild to think that in 20 matches I couldn't hit 90% with a hand cannon that mows everything down, but... what are the odds?

Which makes me think that something like what Buzzles said might be the case. Kills or no, if you hit, it counts. But, if the bulwark shields are being counted as misses, I can see why. They're one of my favorite go-to's for this penance b/c they're hard to miss.

Lastly, I gave the Kantrael/fire shotgun a few tries and it didn't work. Also, it made me feel like a drag on the group b/c I was using the special shot which is supposedly "can't miss". Whereas, with the plasma gun, I can make a whole heresy or damnation run without picking up ammo, but still contribute with kills as long as I'm conservative with the ammo and not shooting at every stray inflected or whatever.

Guess I just have to keep trying (did another couple more runs after this post and no luck).

I'm struggling with this one myself and at least I learned a few tricks, especially the one about the Bulwark Shields. It's quite literally the last Sharpshooter penance I'm really having trouble with as I, by the grace of the emperor managed to get On Overwatch today.

Maybe try to complete it with shotgun, just to be sure it's a bug? I feel it's the easiest weapon for the penance, if you don't ads you can dump all of your ammo hitting enemies with great ease, especially if you take Kantrael shotty

ceo of gay furry sex, fu for making me type that out, first of all lol, but I did try Kantrael a few times (2 or 3, I think), but maybe I should try again.

Something else, though, I was doing the smelter map on damnation just now (since you get infinite spawns at the end to empty your gun into) and I noticed something super wacky. I was shooting at things, horde waves filling every corner of my screen... and me missing. Like I would have had to turn 180 backwards or like 90 degrees up or down for me to miss... and the reticle was not registering hits. And it wasn't just like once or twice. I probably had 3 or 4 shots at the end there just before you run down the hallway to the elevator where it completely missed.

Now, full disclosure, I did not empty out my mag on that run (had like 20-something rounds left) so I wouldn't have gotten the penance, but the misses were just unbelievable. Point blank shots with walkers taking up anywhere between 75-100% of your screen and missing.

The servers are really bad right now with the crossplay launch, inputs are disappearing and hits not registering so you might be running into some of those issues?

Since servers are dedicated any issues they are having might be hurting your chance of getting this really annoying penance.

shotguns work fairly well for this penance too since you just have to hit with at least 1 pellet each shot for it to count as a hit. that combined with their lower ammo count means less shots have to be fired. More shots fired = more chances to miss

Yeah, just did this with shotgun, no ammo at the end, nothing.

I was also trying to do this with Plasma Gun and got nowhere. After over a dozen attempts I switched to the Lawbringer shotgun and got the penance on 2nd attempt. I also tried the Kantrael and the Revolver before the Plasma Gun and never got the penance with these either.

I think my issue was with these overpenetrating weapons having hit reg trouble from my sub-optimal basement wi-fi internet. I would often see a hit effect on the enemy(spurting blood) but no damage was caused to them and no hit icon was flashed.

Ahh, interesting. Yeah, I was wondering if I was having some hit reg issues. A couple of days ago, on the smelter map, I had an unreal experience with the plasma gun where I was shooting at a screen 75 to 100% full of enemies and I was somehow missing. It was awful. Not like 1 or 2 shots, either. It was like 3 or 4 in a row of like full on horde buffet.

However, I am happy to report that I did finally get this done today (with a Kantrael shotgun) so my watch is ended. Didn't mean to sound alarmist, but thanks to all those who pitched in with advice and info. Guess I was as bad a shot as I thought??

Do it with a low ammo shotgun, and just dump in a boss.

Unless its a bug on the description, it doesn't specify it has to be a private a game. Although trying that wouldn't hurt.
