Why aren't people running crusher more?
This thing is nuts and is perfect for zealot as anti armor cause they got all the horde clear in flamer and great horde control if they take a different range. The fact you can hold basically an infinite amount of crushers for your team while a horde is basically watching you is nuts. Are zealots just so focused on axe and knife movement speed? I truly don't get why i never see it

for bosses sure everything else not really. Still see more knifes and axes than thunder hammers.

This really. Crusher is like a Walmart Maul.
but slightly slower too.

quite great for smashing things around though. But not as good for anti armor as the Thammer.

I don't like the movement set and the fact that it seems to just shove enemies around. It shares the trait with the Thunder hammer and i just feel more comfortable using my axe. When i want "anti armor" or bring a Flamer, then i prefer the Thunder hammer.

I mean if you want to one shot mutants or kill bosses than its better but overall crusher is just safer and better. It's faster and way safer to use its ability, It staggers everything and the explosions has way more reach than you'd expect. Does great pushing groups of range cause you can chain stagger them before they shoot you. It's amazing dealing with groups of elites and saving teammates from ragers. Seriously underrated.

I get that. Axe just kills more and faster. Though the triple light and than a heavy back into triple light is pretty great for hordes. The problem i have with axe is that it kills fast but you got to move the camera alot more since the swings are slanted. Obviously still great though.

You can juggle enemies very well with Crusher. I can juggle about as well with Eviscerator. With combat axe I can juggle almost as well while also rapidly killing them.

The moveset is complicated, and people just want to spam the same attack over and over again. I've noticed that Zealots who run crusher seem to do much better than others on T5. It has a higher skill ceiling for sure.

its lame, simply not as cool as other weapons
I run the power maul for the same reasons. Completely negates armor enemies and ragers through the stagger. Plus, the 'boom' is extremely satisfying anytime you hit anyone.

I feel like you answered your own question. Why would you want to take a versatile, hyper-mobile class and drag them down with a fairly linearly focused weapon that's going to kill their mobility? By all means play what you want but if you're looking for "optimal" approaches I would find it very difficult to not have a combat knife, tactical axe or combat axe in the melee slot for zealot.

Most of your ability comes from your ult though. I still play just as aggressive with the crusher and even use its aoe explosion to stagger groups of range aggressively. I think people are underplaying how good the aoe actually is on it. I didn't really answer my own question. I had a theory on why people should play it more but they don't cause of dodge distance or whatever. Turns out some of the answers I got were not at all tied to movement or losing mobility. Also what confuses me more is that power maul gives you the option to not use flamer since flamer is like your best anti armor right now and lets zealot deal with range a bit better yet I guess flamer is just that prominent no one cares about using other things.

The Crusher doesn't deal enough damage quickly and doesn't work well with the crit build.

It's not a bad weapon, but it's more utility than damage.

I like the crusher. It makes hordes easy to handle. What I would like to see is some kind of crush damage that could benefit all blunt melee weapons. Similar to how bleed works. Think about it, having heavy armor dented into your skull or chest is going to hurt and keep hurting. So maybe it could slow enemies affected? I dunno. But I think something like that could really mix stuff up and make these weapons more fun to use.
