I turned mine off because you shouldn't need one with all the RAM you have these days, but I would get that error on a multitude of games until I turned it back on.
this sounds like it's probably going to be the move sadly
Initial Size: 800mb
Maximum: 2936mb
And I just chucked it on a non-SSD drive that doesn't have Darktide on it.
Works ok. Tried less at first but would still get out of memory errors.
My Specs:
i9 10900K @5 GHz
1070TI w/ 8GB Memory
32GB RAM @3200 MHz
M.2 SSD
But my pagefile is ridiculously huge due to me playing Cities: Skylines with like 20k mods
I've set it to (in MB):
initial size: 128000
Max size: 192000
(no I did not put in too many zeros, my pagefile is humongous at almost 200GB, it's the mods for cities: skylines, takes almost 20 minutes to load up my map, not kidding)
I rarely play more than maybe 2-3 hour sessions of Darktide. I have once had a game where I had the horrible weapons-switching lag issue, but that happend on the first or second game that day after which I stopped playing since I figured it was server related somehow.
Yeah i had darktide installed on a HDD and i just went out and bought an ssd to put Darktide on, so i'm hoping that it helps out with the issue. I also had a custom pagefile set to max out at around 96,000 so i'm hoping using the HDD to have the pagefile set on will help
Definitely should have got a SSD regardless, they are pretty cheap nowadays and just make life alot easier. If you can get a M.2 to put your OS on even better.
