Does the defensive stat on items actually affect block stamina efficiency?
Im running this game on difficulty 5 on 3 different classes and i still cant figure this one out. The defensive stat in weapon says it affects stamina efficiency, but on mouseover in inspect, it only gives numbers other things, but nothing to do with block efficiency. I cant figure out of defensive stat on say the slab shield for ogryn, would actually improve the blocking efficiency or not at all? For example some mobility stats say it improves running and sprinting speed, but on mouseover in inspect, theres only sprinting speed numbers. So do those things get affected even if theres no number stats on mouseover or not? So all in all, would getting a slab shield with higher defensive stat mean you can block more stamina efficiently, for longer, or doesnt do anything of the kind? Any input appreciated.

%stat modifies only things that written in description. If block cost not mentioned, it does not depend.
Despite that some weapons has variable %defence stat ans some not, all weapons has SOME values in every possible thing like push cost, block cost, sprint cost etc. It is not shown basicly.

Usually shields in VT2 had better base block cost stat. Better thatn regular weapons. And a lot better than light weapons like daggers.

Block cost reduction as perk actually improves block a lot. Good to use it.

Yeah I know about perks and curios and whatnot, but the defensive stat itself doesn't reduce stamina cost for blocking right?

Afaik, defensive stat in modifiers affects:
-Sprinting stamina cost
-push stamina cost
-number of dodges

Thats all I remember from the top of my head.

Hmm good question,

Most of the things I have that give a Defense Stat, when you go into the weapon under the "Inspect" link on the bottom are usually about Dodge, Dodge distance, Sprint Speed, etc, I don't think I've ever seen one that gives stamina adjustment.

Yeah its just so weird because on mouseover in the inspect, it doesnt show in the stats, but it kind of fits under the "stamina efficiency" part of the description. Same with like mobility on some weapons where in description it says movement speed, but on stats mouseover inspect just shows sprint speed etc. Its really hard to tell and i cant figure it out whatsoever, pretty frustrating

With a block cost reduction of 50% and 60% reduction to gunners it is possible to advance on the enemy gunners without issues. It is a huge difference with those stats when using the shield.

Thats not the question though, we all have those block cost reductions from perks and curios. The question is if the defense stat of the weapon helps it as well or not though
