Store rotation explained in new dev update:
We iz just to dumdum to underztand. Rotate store make us dizzy! Not for FOMO, but for Stoopid kuztomerz who get konfuzed! Thanks FatShark, me to dum before to see me to dum! Brain no hurt no mor!

"In patch 1.0.14, we removed the timer from The Commodore’s Vestures, where players could purchase premium cosmetics via Aquila packs. Our plan for the shop is to give players more time between rotation periods until we reach three screens worth of cosmetic bundles. The timer will remain inactive until the first page is due to be rotated out with 24 hours remaining. It’s important to note that the store is on rotation to give players some variety while at the same time not creating clutter. We feel that unlimited store pages are likely to create confusion and a bad user experience. Rest assured, the cosmetics are not gone forever and will likely reappear."

Tencent owns most of fatshark nowadays. It's a chinese mobile gaming investing company who are there to drain your pockets while giving you the least pleasing experience to encourage you to spend more. They wanna turn darktide into a mobile game. They most likely are the ones who told them to make penance so toxic to encourage spending. They don't want you to feel like anything is free despite spending money on it.

"Tencent Holdings Ltd. (Chinese: 腾讯; pinyin: Téngxùn) is a Chinese multinational technology and entertainment conglomerate and holding company headquartered in Shenzhen. It is one of the highest grossing multimedia companies in the world based on revenue. It is also the world’s largest company in the video game industry based on its investments, with Tencent Games being the subdivision of Tencent Interactive Entertainment Group (IEG) focused on publishing of games.[4]"

They sold out to a company that doesn't give a crap about their games they just want money from their investments and they want it right now!

"The company surpassed a market value of US$500 billion in 2018, becoming the first Asian technology company to cross this valuation mark.[14][15][16] It has since then emerged as the most valuable publicly traded company in China, and is the world's tenth most valuable company by market value as of February 2022"

Even with 500 billion they still want MORE. It's never enough. Drain the life out of everything they invest in for MORE money. ♥♥♥♥ this planet.

Tencent could have 100 trillion and they would still be fiending for more money. We will never get a decent game in this day and age. Only small indie developers are where it's at. Games that get bought out by major corporations who care less about your game and just want to use it to extract money while providing as little effort as possible.

Heck even microsoft trashed Halo for their investors. They are pulling in massive profits, but it's never enough for these people.

Yeah, I'd be so confused by multiple store pages. Clearly, I'm too dumb to even play this game, let alone navigate a store page.

i love that they very very clearly just removed the timer because they didn't have any new cosmetics to release at the time. Great company.

The whole excuse is a joke. And notice they didn't actually get rid of it. Just made it less apparent until the last 24 hrs remain.

Also, this statement:

"...the cosmetics are not gone forever and will likely reappear."

Why exactly did they decide to word it this way? Ik, sounds nitpicky, but this kinda corporate speak is done for a reason. If it's not going to be gone forever, then why add the "likely" at the end? The statement seems to contradicts itself.

Almost sounds like they wanna maintain that fear of FOMO and/or keep the door open for timed exclusive paid DLC you can never get again.

I would be more confused as to why is there a need for time rotation when they could just put it there and I buy it whenever I feel like it.

FS is just gaslighting us at this point calling us too stupid to think for ourselves.

I don't understand why they throw in these reasonings.

Like if we're to believe that's actually their reasoning (its not, their reasoning is fomo), then they just called us so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid we couldn't even handle a simple google search (since those can have pages of results). In fact, I'm not sure how we were even smart enough to purchase the game, because steam should be too complex for us.

And if we rightfully acknowledge its not their reasoning, then its a pointless lie. Why say anything? Like I don't even give a ♥♥♥♥ about the store in the first place, but if someone goes out of their way to lie to my face for no reason it feels odd to just ignore it.

I feel bad for Aqshy. Dude genuinely seems pretty nice, so it sucks he's being told to tell all these stupid lies. And like if he's actually an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and hiding it well, you'd think he'd be a better liar than this.

They definitely chose this word on purpose for wiggle room. Likely being to appear does not specify how often it will reappear only that it may reappear which doesnt not even confirm it will. For all we know it will appear after the game's' lifespan has already ended and this statement will still be correct.

Precisely my thinking as well. It's corporate speak designed to calm the masses without actually committing to anything or being straightforward. God forbid they speak plainly and show the community a little bit of respect.

AHAHAHAH, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, is this real?
Create confusion, what an excuse.
bruh this feels horrible, so they are doubling down on the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥... great, I'm never getting anything from fatshark from here on out, I clearly made a mistake buying darktide and is very clear that they wont change their ways

Assuming this is a good faith response from them, that wording is more or less necessary if they ever intend on having a limited time offer. If they said that you would always have another chance now they would likely pay for that in the future even if they currently have no plans to do it (doubt it).

I recommend withdrawing from all games all together unless they are tiny indie games. This is it man. I'm done. 2023 is the year i vow to never purchase ♥♥♥♥ again. I'm only gonna play darktide for a bit more before i get bored of it, and then i'm off to other things. I have lost all my patience with the gaming industry. I have zero f's to give now.
