How to switch the weapon in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide?
Bought it yesterday. played two matches as the fatty man, and I got tired of his grenade launcher the reload of which is 2-3 seconds. I came here to shoot from guns and rifles.

Opened up the main menu to choose another heroi with another class, as it was in Vermintide 2, but here's only my hero and no other heroes, nor a window to choose.

So, how to switch the weapon?

You have to create a new character.

"Create Operative" button when you enter the character screen for the first time. You can go back to this window by hitting ESC -> Change Operative.

I've got 119 mins in this game, one minute more and no refund xD
So I can create a new caracter and keep my account's overall progress, right?

Every bit of progress is character-specific. When you start a new one it's new cash, new resources, leveling from 0, gearing from 0.

Yeah, the reaction to "VT2 leveling grind is bad and unnecessary" was "let's make it worse!".

I mean the level of my account, the levels I've completed, etc

There's no account level. The only progress for "levels completed" is towards account-wide penances that grant nothing except a tick in a checkbox.

Ive already played this more than VT2 because at its core its a better game, no it doesnt have as much content but the fact that i can make my own characters and customize them makes it %100 the superior game, and i have no problem leveling multiple characters. Never could get into VT2 with its stupid preset characters etc , no thanks.

Na. The core gameplay loop, what happens inside the mission, is very good and I enjoy it immensely. However all the backbone systems of the game are severely lacking, most a straight - and severe - downgrade from VT2.

The loot system is far FAR worse, with far more RNG. There are no private lobbies, and even now that they're "coming" soon you STILL can't go solo. You can't dress, gear, build, or order bots. There's no story. Missions are on an RNG rotation that feels like it's supposed to feature procedurally generated levels only without procedural generation. The grind is far worse, as every character starts from nothing. The cash shop features monopoly money straight from an Asian freemium MMO to obscure and muddle expenses instead of a honest $ for bling setup. From 15 classes at launch and 19 now down to 4, and they're not a shred more complex or deep to justify the lacking selection. The scoreboard is gone for no good reason. In VT2 I launch the game, alt-tab for a minute, and come back to a loaded game without any more waiting or unnecessary inputs; in DT there's several loading screens separated by "PRESS X TO PROGRESS" that only launches yet another loading screen.

Sorry, this game has PROBLEMS.
