Point of Daemon enemy? Doesn't drop anything and no extra mission reward.... EDIT: not saying that's a bad thing, just getting info
EDIT: So it's fine if you don't get antying for them.. i was just wondering if they are meant to be dodged. Sort of like an extra thing so you don't mindlessly fire and run everywhere. That's a cool idea. Didn't make post as a hate post I just made it to get information. thx.

So my friend theorized that the point of them is for them to not be aggroed. Sort of a stealth thing because there is literally no reward for the effort/ resources burned to kill them. No extra mission exp or money etc. Maybe others know info i don't , like if that's one of the things they left out of this game. I know it's an unfinished game so just figuring out if anyone else actually does the daemons or runs pass them.

Witch in Left 4 Dead was the same way, a dangerous enemy who is a waste of resources and best left alone, posing as an additional danger to carefree players.

Its a land mine...you avoid it or suffer the consequences. It keeps you on your toes. It adds a bit of tension.
However, if you accidentally trigger it, you DO get an achievement if you kill it once.

RNG for flavor, to add fear, keep you on guard and slow the rushing.

Would like monsters to drop crafting mats but im sure its another to be added feature

fear is the reward of the daemon. you always want to skip it.

I can tell you this much, I am so sick of my teams mindlessly running into them. 😒

If killing it guaranteed an extra weapon drop at the mission end it might be worth it.

But then you need a group that can actually kill it without slab shield cheese.

Some people will get mad at Ogryn for not having it when one comes up in the mission as well, cuz 'internet'.

Others will just jump it not caring, again cuz 'internet'.

An extra loot would be nice though.

there's no incentive to kill any monstrosities. the Daemonhost is just an extra deadly one you can avoid. why is this such a problem?

when monstrosity spawn is triggered by level progression, you can't proceed further until you kill it duh

It's not SUCH a problem lol. I was asking the community the best strategy and if there was hidden rewards for doing them. One of the first replies was a good answer. A landmine to add tension.

i'm talking about plague ogryn and nurgle beast. You can't press the switch until you kill them

Daemonhost is different. It's either not supposed to be a monstrosity, or is supposed to have some incentive to kill it

There are not any point in normal enemies, elites or specials either. They all just slow us down when we try to proceed to *insert serial number here* to *insert some mundane action here*.

Daemonhosts are landmines that, assuming a team that plays competently and to win, gets triggered only it isn't noticed and some long-range weapon accidentally clips it or because other enemies, perhaps a mutant, forces players or a player to enter its area. First one might feel like BS if it happens (happened to me exactly once, so I can't comment really) and second one adds tension when fighting around it. Personally I like them and they add to the feel.

On two separate occasions the Daemonhost spawned in a tiny hallway that there was no other way to get around it forcing us to engage it. Specifically, there was a spot the non-Ogryn's could crouch under to avoid it but the Ogryn had to pass by the Daemonhost, aggroing it.

yeah you can sneak by them too.. I don't think ive ever seen one you can't sneaky sneaky

They do count as a monstrosity, which means that you should be able to get credit from Sire Melk if you got a contract for it (assuming that isn't bugged too).

If you got an Ogryn with a Slab Shield or...apparently a Zealot with a Power Hammer, trigger it and go off if you wanna get some points on a contract.
