the one that has low fire rate is pretty good for damage, the one with high is decent for clearing hordes, but i'd prefer the slow firing rate high damage to murder elites with honestly )

in my opinion its the Mk VIIa recon lasgun you get more damage for a slower fire rate but will tend to be more accurate with sustained fire and ammo efficient than the Mk II or the Mk VId

remember, lasguns don't really penetrate carapace armour too well, you might want to consider a diff weapon choice that hurts on all enemy types for higher difficulties as crushers are quite many at damnation )

how MK VII better at horde cleaning than MK VIId?
Same magazine> same ammo drain (2 charge per shot) 50% less damage
so even the weakest enemy have around 120-150 HP
With MK VIId its always 2 shot, with MK VII its 4-5 shots
And again, same magazine size
Although its might look like you "cleaning" horde, just because that crazy rate of fire, in reality its just visuals

I found both of those to be virtually the same killing wise. Its a case in which fatshark balanced them both to the point where they are identical just different fire rates

i confused the MK
So, about stronger, firs of all there is no stronger, thats that
There is 3 variants of each gun, fast firing low damage, in between, high damage slower rate of fire
So fast firing cant have "more damage" you know? its in the brackets of 37.5 to 52
while the strongest one got base damage as 80
So best recon rifle is MK VIIa not MKVIId

then it's just preference eh, :D
Slower one for stagger (such as it is on an auto laser) and max total damage. Has bad dodge though
