Aye theres a lot of things you should be able to escape over time.
Mutants i think are the fairest enemy cos they don't pin you endlessly. Dog or ledges you should be able to pull up of eventually fight em off.

Yes I’m totally sure a person would definitely be able to kick off the mutated hell hound the same size as them attempts to tear your throat out

regular human? yes no chance. dogs are probably at least str 4. human is str 3. but ogryn? ogryn is strong. str 5. stronger than dog.

Can you imagine how the community would react if an elite played Zealot went into a pug and just ran forward without any fear of ledges, trappers, or dogs?

The mechanics exist to keep players together and nothing else.

Honestly, they missed a trick with the "disabler enemies"/ledges and the Wound system.

They should have just made it so that you don't get completely wrekt by one of those if you get jumped by something with your team out-of-sight... Especially if a Trapper runs right up and nets you just before you were the last one over a no-come-back ledge! That's absolutely infuriating, ASK ME HOW I KNOW!

They should have made it so that if you get dogged, or Trapper'd, or Ledge'd, you can pull yourself up after one Wound bar has been purple'd in (or just lost, for ledges). Except Ogryn.

Ogryn should just pick the dog up and rip its head off.

Just silly game mechanics that makes no sense.

Game mechanic to reinforce group interactions.

Same with the specials. They're designed to force you to rely on teammates.
