Zealots are good at finding an opening in a clump of ranged enemies and rushing in forcing them to go melee which makes any group of ranged enemies basically harmless.

Its the best at closing into melee since its got the dash, good dodges, and some nice toughness damage resist. Then once ranged enemies stop shooting and pull their melee weapons out, zealot and their team are much safer.

And then if you run crit build Zealot's purpose is to be nearly immortal. If you can't die, you tend to win runs.

No, the other classes have synergy with him.
You can kit out a Veteran with long range threat deletion, and the Zealot gives synergy by horde clearing and deleting specials in close combat and gives Psykers free room to brain burst or obliterate, Ogryn opens enemies up for Thunder Hammer and Evicerator use.

No, because you just melee them. Ranged enemies are tough to deal with when you don't have an ability to get in and they're aggrod from across the map by a trigger happy teammate (who isn't good enough to just kill them all).

When you have strong ways to regenerate toughness with very high damage resist and gap closers to get yourself in melee where you're safe, and no one is shooting the ranged enemies and causing them to turn around but not actually killing them, its not nearly as tough.

Nah on Heresy you can use Eviscerator charge hordes with no fear. Spec the impact on 3 enemies hit talent and practice movesets. Heavy + light + light; block push attack + light are great against hordes

For Thunder Hammer, instead of slow swings all day, bring an Autogun. I recommend Braced Mark VIII. Now, enemies will be thinned and weaknesses covered, and more swings will be fun Power activated ones

like the ogryn, the zealot is melee oriented, the difference is that ogryn take less damage have more hp, and have a slower gameplay while the zealot get more mobility and tank better with thougness.
for elite/hord, both classe can handle them depending of weapon

When using power sword with Psyker they feel really comparable in mechanic, especially charged special... guess the distinction is mostly for aesthetics

Zealot charges in to make ranged foes swap to melee. That's about it. Evis is nice, axe is good (but not class specific). Definitely some really dumb feats that they blindly brought across from VT2 without considering how they fit into DT

The knife/bleed/crit Zealot with basically any decent gun is absolutely unstoppable. My toughness rarely, if ever, breaks. If it does and I take HP damage, I do more damage. The amount of crits I get with the knife means my ultimate cooldown is almost instantaneous. In higher difficulties I can ult charge, or slide charge, enemy gun lines and lock them in melee for the ranged to kill, if I don't erase them all first.
