HDR support when?
Seems like such a visually stunning game that spends so much time in the dark is a natural fit for well-mastered HDR support. Please tell me this is coming....

lol my system doesn't need fixing. Literally every other game that supports auto hdr works as expected. This game needs official auto hdr support for it to work.

Trust me, I want you to be right but unless I see a screenshot with proof then I don't think it works. Unless I somehow have a gimped copy of the game :/

I don't know how else to say it. Auto-HDR works on this game, I get the pop up when it launches and it is CLEARLY HDR. There's not really anything more you have to say, we've established it's not working for you on your system for whatever reason. The game works with it as others in this thread have stated as well as me.
Only thing I can think of is I'm on the latest update from Windows - they recently released a big update. I can't think of anything else that would be different on my system.

If you open Run and type winver what version does it say you're on? I'm on 21H2 currently, checking for updates says I'm up to date.

It's weird that other auto-hdr games still work but this one doesn't, for me it's only a couple of older games and some indy games that use their own engine it seems that don't appear compatible. Your drivers upto date too I presume? Have you tried just toggling HDR off and back on in display settings? Rebooted?

Win + Ctrl + Shift + B will restart your graphics driver, I've found that handy when HDR gets stuck on/off sometimes, like when my monitor idles off and I wake it up again.

Tried it on my LG C1 and AutoHDR works AMAZING. I even cranked it to 4k (60fps with ultra performance DLSS) and looked so goood...OLED too helps a TON. but its also really hard to play on controller and unless you have a good setup for a keyboard mouse with your TV you won't be able to play long as I found out.
My c1 is behind my xb27hu and my neo g8, haven’t played darktide on c1 yet tho I love the g8 so much

After latest patch, auto HDR properly activates now for me and it looks awesome. No idea why it wouldn't before the new patch!

Not all games work with Auto-HDR.
Wholly incorrect, you are segregating your library based on false information.

Auto HDR works at the operating system level, so all games are compatible with Auto HDR. The only restriction noted by Microsoft is that a game must support DirectX 11 or DirectX 12 to enable Auto HDR.

What you are very likely seeing are non DX11/12 titles receiving poor/limited benefit from the Auto HDR tone mapping.

As I stated, Auto HDR is operating system level and has nothing to do with in-game implementation. It works on EVERY SINGLE GAME THAT WILL RUN ON YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM. It just might not /do/ anything remarkable depending on the title.

Certain games don't "trigger" it, as in, there's no pop up notification when the game starts, and it's very obvious there's no tone mapping, everything looks completely flat.

Age of Darkness is an example game that has no auto-HDR trigger, which is annoying because it would benefit so much from it with the style of game it is - dark, gloomy, with bright spots of light from torches/spirits etc, auto-HDR would really make these pop like they should.

More games where it does not trigger at all:

Big Pharma
DEFCON
ENDLESS Legend
Hell Let Loose
Papers, Please
The Sims 4
Any Dawn of War 2 title

These games don't trigger auto-HDR and as such have absolutely no tone mapping applied, and look no different to turning HDR off in display settings.

No popup? Run your game. Go in to your Display Settings. Click Enable Auto HDR. Profit.

Again, the benefit you see from it will depend upon the SDR colour information being provided for the Auto HDR tonemapping.

The auto pop-up not triggering doesn't mean that it lacks Auto HDR.

Auto HDR literally affects EVERY SINGLE GAME RUNNING ON YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM.

Some games will have visible benefit, others will not.

What part of this is hard for you?

I am also willing to be you're on an 8bit + FRC panel and not a 10bit panel.

Do you have to talk to me like such a complete ♥♥♥♥? Imagine actually talking to someone in person like this, are you on the spectrum or do you actually have a stunning lack of self-awareness of how you sound or how to actually talk to people? You need to wind it in.

In case any of the subtle meaning above was lost on you, or you are in fact on the spectrum, I have absolutely zero interest in continuing engaging with you on this topic.

HDR works for me? Just make sure auto mode is on the window settings.

You're making yourself look stupid. Plus your also incredibly rude.

Auto HDR requires the game to have support. If there's no support then it doesn't engage. Windows can run in HDR and if a game doesn't have auto HDR support then the game will literally just run as if in SDR, exactly the same as the Windows desktop. If you switch between HDR on/off with unsupported titles then the image will look identical.

Bottom line is that if there's no auto HDR pop up when you launch a game then there is no auto HDR.

It works after the latest patch.

Still not working here with AutoHDR. Yes, it is activated and also the monitor is in HDR-mode, and I am getting the little info text at game start. But nothing else changes. It looks washed out on my Acer X35 HDR1000 Monitor. Activating and deactivating AutoHDR in Win+G settings also changes nothing.

I know that AutoHDR has worked in the past with other games. (And for somne reason it doesnt work with them today)

If it's not working with other games, that would suggest looking at windows or drivers - try reinstalling your drivers, would take 5 mins and would rule drivers out, or may just fix it. Also, restart your pc - shutdown doesn't fully start a new session every time, restart can fix everything. Check windows for updates, and lastly try opening a administrator cmd prompt and type in "sfc /scannow" without the quotes, this will check and fix Windows files - they often get corrupted with a stuck update.
Shi ( . Y . ) tface 18 DIC 2022 a las 16:22
All patches, driver updates and windows updates are the latest.
Scannow just corrected some blue tooth driver files.
This issue persists since dunno 2 years or so. Now its relevant again because of darktide.
HDR Calibration also didnt help out.
It is just some issue with AutoHDR, that cannot be turned on really. I can move the HDR slider and the picture becomes brighter or greyish. But ticking AutoHDR on or off doesnt change the picture at all. The slider only greys out when "off".
Just proceeding with some tests and combination of settings and setups. Maybe I will find something out....
