In what city is the NA East server located?
I'm using a VPN to connect to the game and I would like to set my VPN server to one in the same city as this game's servers. I cannot find any information online.

Edit: My VPN is currently set to Chicago and I am experiencing really bad lag despite speed tests giving my connect speed as 60 down/20 up/ 24ms ping which isn't amazing but should be more than enough for smooth gameplay.

Most east coast servers are generally either in New York or Virginia.

Not sure for this game though.

Thank you! I'll try those and see if that helps.

Is there a reason you are using a vpn like that since it will normally cause more lag plus it's against steams tos?

VPNs are only against TOS if you use them to bypass region locks or get games for cheaper. As I said in my edit, my connection speed is perfectly fine. In fact, many users require a VPN to connect to Darktide.

Any use of vpn's violates steams tos:

You agree that you will not use IP proxying or other methods to disguise the place of your residence, whether to circumvent geographical restrictions on game content, to order or purchase at pricing not applicable to your geography, or for any other purpose. If you do this, Valve may terminate your access to your Account.

RIP your steam library lol. I'd delete this thread before you get a spite report.

VPNs aren't meant for games. There will be lag. There will be increased lag as you're adding more connection points.

Ping isn't as important as jitter. So check what your jitter is. It shouldn't really be more than 1 or 2 ms. Also, stop using a VPN with games since it'll just make the connection worse. Up/Down doesn't matter either; just the consistency of your latency.

VPNs aren't against TOS. They're only against TOS if you're lying to steam about your residency and making purchases... like telling steam you're from a place with cheap games, to buy cheap games.

You're completely misreading that; don't become a lawyer. Wow, your own quote even refutes your armcharisms: "to order or purchase at pricing not applicable to your geography."

That was one of the reasons as an example why it's not allowed.

Steam places that rule because hiding your location can violate regional laws to circumvent certain laws that may be in place for government restrictions and it is needed so steam is allowed to sell in those regions.

The "any other part" is very clear.

No, the "any other purpose" is literally a blanket for anything else nefarious, so they have footing to pursue if you try to, even if they didn't list it because listing everything in the world is impossible to maintain. It is not about using it to play games or browse the web. The "it's very clear" is also hilarious because it's LITERALLY not meant to be clear... it's a blanket...

Well you better report the developer for telling players that have an IPV6 only network to use a VPN to play.
