Is there a secret No Headache Mode?
So, maybe I am an edge-case, but I get headaches very quickly from playing the game. No problem with Vermintide or L4D. Are there any new fancy graphic settings I should watch out for?

Thanks in advance! :medicon:

I also suffer from motion sickness in some games. A few generally helpful settings for me are:

- Maintaining a high framerate
- Tweaking the fov until it feels right
- Same for mouse sensitivity
- Disabling all the blurry stuff (motion blur, bloom, depth of field, ...)

In addition in Darktide there now is a setting to remove the head movement down to 0%, that alone makes the biggest difference for me! Praise the emperor :steamhappy:

Yeah I have same problem. But solution to this is have fps not less then 59 and highest refresh rate of screen that is possible.
In darktide I've been able to set up my graphic settings that only on biggest mashup my fps drop down to 45 and so far no motion sickness. On 2.5 k res momentarily fps drop is not a problem, but on 4k res even momental drop bellow 59 cause motion sickness.

Oh and also no running in circles when you lost because this make sickness too...

Same here, I can't stay for more than 3-4 games. I just chill in the hub waiting for the market to update. My eyes hurts from the bad performance, I tried to set everything to low-setting and it did help a little. The game needs some performance patches before it gets to the point of not getting a headache after each mission.

Try to get as much fps as you can by lowering the settings, also disable ray tracing if you have it enabled.
Oh, it seems I am not the only one. Thanks for your input, I will play around with the settings a bit. :er_heart:

here's another tip, i've heard from some friends suffering this issue that some ray-tracing reflection in other games can cause headaches and even nausea (can't confirm this myself since it doesn't apply to me) but disabling those might help as well.

Good luck figuring this out to everyone.

Turning off head movement does the trick for me in games like this.

As someone that has chronic migraines these are the settings I watch out for. YMMV on if any of these help you. Mind you not all of these are in Darktide this is just a over all thing.

Motion Blur - I always turn this off it just messes with my head

Depth of Field - Can give me eye strain

Lock Frame rate/Vsync - I find stable but lower FPS is better then unstable high FPS so I often just use vsync or if the game has the setting lock the FPS to 60.

FOV - Also an eye strain thing but it is something I have to tweak

Head Bob/Sway - Messes with my head most of the time

High levels of Bloom - Sometimes not always but games this effects me

Bad Ray Tracing - Don't know why but CP2077 and DT both have something going on with they ray tracing the triggers my migraines so I had to turn it off.

That is more of less the big ones for me in games. I also tend to turn my gamma up slight more then the default as to dark can mess with me if I play for a long stretch.

there is a slider to reduce camera movement from running, being hit and so forth. That may help you a lot to stabilize
So, disabling camera bobbing and motion blur makes the experience much more endurable and less confusing in the midst of battle. I also disabled the automatic performance mode. I noticed it swapped a lot during gameplay, which probably made things much more confusing for my brain. Still need to take breaks though, but this is something I should do anyway. :ScoutSheep:

Turn off Lens Quality as well as the other settings mentioned here. It made the screen a bit fuzzy/hard to focus for me, and has been a world of difference with it off.

In this game I actually feel that 60fps isn't enough. I need at least 90, but preferably 120.

Have a static dot in the middle of the screen. Most games have this optin for not animated aiming dot.

Have your FOV in the right spot. 110 for 1080 p for example.

This makes the headaches go away.
