Game's so much better with headphones.
Like, seriously. I don't usually play with headphones but there's a lot of detail to the audio that I usually can't hear just playing with my TV with a volume level that's respectful to my neighbors. Some units have audio queues that I couldn't pick up on without headphones. I can even hear when a horde's about to blindside me from the "woosh" sound effect that plays.

It doesn't do much for the positional queues from hounds, muties and bursters, though, I think that just overally needs a finer grain, but it definitely helps my awareness.

I'm not sure if you can hear them better using the dynamic range options in the game, but headphones do the trick nicely.

Love my headphones, just wish I knew why I can't get voice to work

It's muted by default, so you need to go in settings and enable PTT or audio activation.

If that's done, then I'd check that your headset's selected as your default communication device. On win10, open start, type "sound settings" and on that window look for a link on the side that says "sound control panel" under "related settings". "recording" tab, right click your mic, "set as default communications device". I'm not sure if this game takes that as their input, but it's worked for me on other games.

I didn't see anything called audio activation but I will look again. i know I had to turn on push to talk because that was turned off.

I don't see it being a windows issue because discord works fine. Could having discord up at the same time as the game causing an override or something?

Headphones are the best way to enjoy most games, atleast if you dont want to disturb your neighbours :D. Used to have big base that could rumble the floor which i kinda miss but oh well :P. I could also recommend having a soundcard, after that i could hear sounds in game i didnt know was there. Became a much more lush experience.

Well the thing is you choose your input device on Discord and darktide can't so I assume it's going by the default comms device. I had to set it because windows somehow set my Dualshock, or my Rift 2, as the default and some games which you can't choose your mic on wouldn't work.

It could be something else though, just my 2 cents.

Actually, have you guys played around with dynamic range? Any which one you prefer? I supposedly have a 7.1 audio application that came with my Razers, but selecting 5.1 instead of "stereo headphones" feels super narrow. Dunno if you have a preferred setting.
