100% Toughness but Health Damage?
I doubt this will ever change however I'd like to share my disdain for the system of toughness.

Ideally yes, never get hit. However, ultimately you will eventually in mass hordes (especially endless). Taking perma damage despite full toughness does not make sense to me. This extends to situations where someone goes down and are on little health, so why pick them up? They'll die anyway from a random pox walker hitting through toughness.

I have come from Vermintide, so maybe this just stems from that. Let me know what you think!

because of this very system it's better to block push enemies instead of simply blocking. prevents the enemy from hitting you, stuns a bunch of them for a second giving you a chance to attack back. i noticed one weapon has a proper parry as it's special action and you do not take chip damage by parrying. this game is seemingly trying to avoid the infinite health thing that you could pull on on vermintide if you were skilled enough. it's weird. i know. i wish it didn't do chip damage either. but i guess we are gonna have to deal with it. toughness acts more like armor from the old doom games. it reduces how much damage you take. but doesn't block it

added in 1.08, remember this is a BETA not a full release yet, it might be removed on release, not sure, but they need to test as much as they can before its out.

How can they go down and still have little health? Once they die and you revive them they will have more health again (50%).

When you pick them up before they die, so it seems it's more beneficial to leave them to die.

I could swear that wasn't always the case but because it is now it's created some weird jacked up scenario where it's more preferable to be shot than it is to be swung at as an ogryn because I'm going to bleed out from melee landing periodic attacks no matter what I want.

It'll stay, without it +health curios are pointless.

if your teamate is down because of a trapper or dog. please save them. that is not true because you can only be downed a certain amount of times before they completely die outright. some characters like Zealot literally has a skill where if they take fatal damage once every 90 seconds they become unkillable for 5 seconds. even if they only live for another minute or two. that's another minute or two before they loose a health state. and if anyone has a medkit they can recover that health. once you officially go down your health bar becomes corrupted and only a med station or full death that fixes that.

It´s fine as it is, otherwise the shieldsystem would be way too strong.

Just learn how to melee better, use your block and definately sometimes a push between your attacks. Don´t spam permanently and all is fine. If you´re coming from Vermintide, you should actually know how melee works anyway. And it´s already easier since only 10% goes through the shield. A stormvermin overhead killed squishy classes immediately.

They had it from before but ramped up the damage that bleeds through and made it increase the less toughness % you have. I hadn't noticed it much before 1.08 but it's become more problematic. If the goal was to nudge players to lean into ranged fights more, I get it but it really needs tweaking.

No they´re not, especially when you focus more on shortrange-loadouts. More toughness helps you a lot to get closer to the enemies to force them into melee or to burn them down.

Range enemies can´t shoot through toughness, but are way harder to deal with than melees once you got used to the combat.

Stormvermin were basically replaced with snipers. those things are brutal.

The instances where someone has only a sliver of health left are what medkits are made for. Pick them up, drop a medkit and everyone can go home happy. Additionally medicae stations are so plentiful that in most cases you just have to survive a few rooms before you find another one. Besides, picking up a teammate with only a little health is always preferable to fighting on with only 3. Worst case scenario they can take a hit meant for someone else before they drop again.

I hate the direct health damage personally. I'd be fine with a few certain attacks doing direct health damage maybe, but not all melee attacks and not all mob types. Toughness is already balanced by corruption damage and that should be enough. Several nasty corruption attacks exist (ever had 2-3 pox walkers pop out of a random door 3 feet from you while in a horde?) plus there are grimoires that constantly eat perm health. I think that does plenty to keep toughness from being op.
