2. Which one is best for single target ? - Thunderhammer (Charged)
3. Which one is best for numerous but scattered ennemies ? - Eviscerator
4. Which one is best with a Bolter ? - Eviscerator
5. Which one is best with a Flamer ? - Eviscerator
This.
The Hammer light attack just sucks all around.
Heavy attack you can sort of do light horde clearing but its still bad.
Alt attack is the only redeeming quality.
1 - Hammer
2 - Hammer
3 - Equal
4 - Equal
5 - Equal-ish ?
What it comes down to is dealing with elites while in a horde. With an Evi you can just rev your sword and cleave through while with the hammer you need to play some 5D positional chess to not waste your charge on trash in your way.
2 face of the same coin imo, hammer requires getting used to it. Play wichever you find the coolest.
2. Thunder Hammer: electrify is easier to use and crumps pretty much anything
3. Probably eviscerator? Not sure exactly what this scenario would look like.
4. Eviscerator, they complement each other pretty well, it's nice to not have to spend all your time revving and digging in
5. Thunder Hammer: clears hordes fast for the hammer, TH special for big guys
In my opinion, your mileage may vary and a lot of this depends on the stats of the weapon.
Thunder Hammer has decent cleave and stagger but is noticeably slower at thinning out hordes and the push attack is bad. It can oneshot most heavies with a powered heavy attack (good counter for hounds and mutants).
it also seems like the hammer can 1/4 health a monstrosity in one powered heavy. i had 2 thunder hammers in a team kill a nurgle beast in under 10 seconds.
EDIT: It seems like Eviscerator isnt cleaving well when i tried today since i got a new one, i guess once you get the trait that increases cleaving by like 150% it becomes much better.
Evi is faster but hammer is safer, it has extra range and a much wider cleaving arc.
These answers are for Heresy level and above (Tier 4+):
1. Hammer, and by quite a bit. There's two things here that people miss. The first is the bonus stamina, which lets you block/push/counter far more than you can with the eviscerator. The second is that you can infinitely chain heavy sweeping strikes, so you can clear trash in about a 180 degree angle constantly. The hammer is a far safer weapon to use.
2. Hammer, but it's a closer call due to how finnicky the special attack can be in crowds. The eviscerator's special attack does not do as much damage against armor at the highest difficulty levels.
3. Eviscerator, just because it is a faster weapon.
4. Doesn't matter, but I use the bolter with a hammer for what it's worth.
5. Probably the hammer, just because you can use the flamer to clear trash, which makes landing your heavy special attacks easy. However, I don't recommend using the flamer if you're a solo queue zealot simply because you can't afford to be reliant upon your teammates to kill enemies at range. The bolter is the superior, all-purpose ranged weapon for this reason.
