Just discovered how to activate the Power Sword.
So it turns out that the alt-fire button activates the Power Sword and hugely increases its damage output. I guess that I am the last person to find this out.

jep, same stupid concept like with chainsaw weapons, there you need to fire up alt too to turn on the motor for a few moments. its just stupid game mechanic, every lore text says power weapons are surrounded by a "CONSTANT" flicker because they are active the whole combat, not only permanent in power safe mode exept for 2 swings after you charged the weapon in 2 seconds by holding it still...

How can you find so many ways to complain about the game?
I think it's a cool mechanic and adds complexity to the gameplay, there are many different attacks you can do and in certain situations you can rev the chainsaw up to kill an elite or something like that.

It's a game guys, it's supposed to be fun. Stop playing it if you get hurt by so many details.

Yes, you can also strike your enemy in melee range if you have your psyker staff out with the weapon special.

Hey guys, I know this is a bit of a secret trick and I hope you have already found it out, but pressing the 'W' button will move you forward.
I know, it's crazy. I also used to dodge slight towards all of targets and objectives like a rabbit, but now that I have found this out I can finally walk forward! Bless the Emperor and have gaming guys!

While you are being a d*ck about it I gotta agree with you.
I am a casual player and still can't comprehend how uninquisitive many people are.
Reminds me of that thread in vermintide forums that goes like "I played dozens of hours with throwing axes and didn't know I can press 'R' to recall my axes."

What is really annoying is that the psyker trys to do this to other swords but does not charge them up so their special on other swords is useless as he just runs his fingers along it and it does nothing, piece of great design right there.

Its a good mechanic(stops you getting it stuck in EVERYTHING and only attacking one enemy at a time) and it IS constantly powered(low power). Gamewise, you use it only when some big boy is in your way or you want it gone(always).

The revving is a short burst power increase and can't actually be held long by non space marines or the vibrations will numb their hands over time. If it was unpowered, it would just be a club and would kill nothing. Plus its as quick as powering the power sword and easy to use.

Whats more annoying is when that Psyker decides his only attack is the BB. That psyker will only remember having a melee weapon or ranged weapon once every.... 3 minutes for like 10 seconds. Idk how to babysit those types but i do my best(aint nothing stopping my powered cleave from protecting them).

I actually hate the chainsword, it seems to me instead of cutting through things not revved it just donks off of their armour, hate it.

The special attack you describe is for the standard Catachan sword, not the Psyker's unique force sword. The special attack for the Catachan sword is a parry, which is why it looks like it does nothing unless an enemy is already attacking in melee.

I see you misunderstood the parry attack.
With other swords where she runs her fingers along it, activate it just before an enemy is attacking, and you will see a insane block+instakill.
