To make toast.
you can either build your psyker as a sniper, targeting those specials from range with "auto aim" and 'getting behind cover' and take them out.
or do the 'i'm the wave clearer with electric or fire staff...
staggering is also pretty nice with that electric stuff.
i prefer to do the Megumin style approach from that anime (*) and do EXPLOSIONS everywhere with that voidstrike staff .
it is just an all purpose build.
snipe specials and clear waves.
with ranged attacks.
but psyker can - as every other class - pretty much do everything depending on how you wanna build it.
(*) (KoNoSuBa is that anime for everyone interested ;) )
Some things people may not know. You can BB at near max peril (under 95 or so?) and still be OK. Your ulti, in addition to being a good CC tool, also blows off a lot of peril.
Decide what you enjoy doing most and build the class around that (or if you play with friends build around where they're weakest).
Aside from that, Voidstrike staff is probably the strongest horde-clearing weapon in the game, especially in tight corridors.
Currently doing similar style, but it just feels wrong, cause yeah, you can auto-aim and kill spec, but why would you, if your veteran squadmate already got him, his friends, friends of his friends and entire family tree dead?
Because sometimes it's a tank elite, and a BB drops the health enough for the vet to finish quicker.
Or the vet is focusing on other targets.
Or the special is moving too fast or behind cover
Melee :
Force sword is good to cut armored enemies or specials.
Charged heavy attack got great dmg on bosses.
Otherwise block push for hord control, it's great.
No reason to use anything else.
Staves ;
- Trauma : short range crowd control and hord clearing
- Purgatus : short range crowd control and hord clearing
- Surge : mid range can be use to control up to 5-6 enemies, great at clearing armored units
- Voidstrike : Long range semi automatic fire ball launcher, good at clearing almost everything in close proximity of the target
Love the revolver, nice collarteral dmg, Good to clear armored targets. Nice synergie with brain burst passive.
Brain Burst :
It's not because you could use it that you should.
Depends of your build, of course.
You just need to start channeling it on the target, no need to keep line of sight to end the cast.
Low risk hight reward mid range special deleting, great to pick up target in the middle of the hord.
(Vets are better at this role but sometimes they may have too much on their hands)
Warp Charges :
No need to spend a second bothering with this because you won't be able to stack it efficiently before lvl 30.
Only need to reach level 12 for a voidstaff.
