Is this Darktide story taking place in the same universe as vermintide?
Title says it all
Is this supposed to be "the future"
Or are we in a all new universe?

No. Verminitde ends with the death of everyone.

40K is an entirely different universe.

The Chaos gods are the same gods in both fantasy and 40k as are the Orks. They exist simultaneously through the warp but are not the same if that makes sense to you.

It is set in the Warhammer 40k universe like dawn of war, inquisitor, battlefleet gothic, space marine, etc. This is from a tabletop game initially released in 1987. Some fans speculate the fantasy universe (where vermintide and total war warhammer are set) and the later sigmar universe that replaced it are somehow in the 40k universe in the warp, but again this is speculation.

Lore(ish)wise
Warhammer 40k is "our" universe.
Warhammer Fantasy is not.

Isn't the warhammer fantasy planet a world that exists in the 40k universe but is isolated from the outside by perpetual warp storms?

Been a while, but I seem to remember that the guy who wrote the liber chaotica starts hinting at the eldar being the "progenitors" of the elven race who seeded life (the old ones and the chaurus) on the warhammer fantasy world.

This is very old lore which was dropped ages ago. Old Ones are now the same in both Fantasy and 40k and Eldar are just one of their creations, like the Orks and humans.
