Perhaps, one day, we will be granted guidance by the Emperor as to precisely what the puck any of this stuff even is!
Smaller lighter enemies have lower Hit Mass which is why you can cleave a lot more Pox Walkers than you can hitting a group of Crushers or Bulwark shields.
Idk if it's changed at all since then cause the post was quite awhile ago from what I remember.
Also just realized this thread was posted in 2022 lmao. Probably already knows what it does now.
different weapons and different attacks on those weapons have varying amounts of cleave
and different enemies have different mass, as people have already said, so expect lower tier basic enemies to have less mass than elites and specials
buffs that increase your cleave will do just that, which allows you to cleave through more enemies
some buffs instead apply a multiplier to the mass of enemies being hit, which basically has the same result as directly increasing cleave, why does the game use both kinds? who knows!
also order of hitting enemies matters
i.e if you have three enemies with this configuration side by side:
mauler-poxwalker-poxwalker
and you swing with an attack that can cleave through 2 poxwalkers but cant cleave through a mauler than a right to left swing will hit all 3 but a lef to right swing will only hit the mauler
