Weapon stats.. what the hell do they mean
Cleave means.. what? First strike means... what? Mobility, on a knife... what the hell does that mean?

Cleave means "hitting multiple targets with one swing"
First strike is "bonus damage on first hit on healthy enemy"
Mobility is "reduction to movement speed penalty while swinging"
What I dont know is what is finesse? crit chance?

Then you also have "ammo" giving weird stats, guns with fewer rounds in a mag and less total bullets have more ammo than a gun with 81/480.
"Stopping power" speaks for itself.
All the different symbols on light/heavy attack don't, would be nice to see an explanation.

If you inspect a melee weapon, they sometimes are self explanatory but when both heavy and light are marked with the same symbol I get confused.

finesse should be a crit and headshot damage multiplier if it works the same in vt2. there seems to be a 'crit bonus' stat though so im not sure. maybe that's crit power from vt2

I was about to make a thread about this very same thing. Fatshark needs to add an explanation on what each stat means when you hover over them

I think that stats are relative within one gun pattern. Like big ammo on stabgun = it will have smth around 24/160 instead of 18/124.

The symbols basically mean Strike(The scope looking one) = Vertical, Relentless (three arrows) = Horizontal or Vanguard(shield looking one) = Diagonal.

Cheers for this - was getting thrown with the whole Mobility thing

Surprised you have issues with those stats, and not the absolutely heiroglyph-tier "collateral" stat I found on an autopistol
Riepah Nov 19, 2022 @ 10:03pm
But guys, don't you know that numbers and accurate information promote toxcity and bad behaviour?

Yep, all stats are modifiers to whatever the base stats of the weapon are. For example, most autoguns seem to have around 20 ammo in a magazine, but if you roll high on the Ammo Stat, you can get 24-30 bullets instead (or roll low and only get 18 or so).

That being said, it'd be nice if there were a tick mark on the bars to let you know where the baseline is, so you can tell if a weapon rolled well or poorly compared to its intended pattern.

As far as guns go and the bars? They mean nothing at all.
Got of the same lasgun, 1 epic, 1 blue with 100 more power level and more of all the stat bars except ammo cap. The purple one does more damage despite its damage "stat" being 1/4 less almost.

I despise this stat display.

Yes, this does not count only for the weapon bars but also for talents where they speak of "allies in coherence" for example. All those words don't mean a thing if you don't know what the distance is for allies to be in coherence...
I'm used to it, Vermintide 2 had the same problem, some mods managed to put numbers on the weapons but it needs to be in the base game, period.
