If its about "they lived a hard life with bad hygiene and bad nutrition, why don't the guys look like butt too? Seems one sided. I get his point. Besides, not everyone who ends up at the bottom end of imperial society looks bad because of it. Alizabeth Bequin from the Eisenhorn series is described as beautiful and she was a blank that basically was forced into cheap prostitution since literally no other occupation would have her.
Its no skin off my nose either way, I didn't come here to play a cute girl. But I do see the point that the women look like they were scraped out of the trash heap of a hive world and the men look like Ex Militarum War Heroes.

It doesn't take to be 40 yo to say this is both inaccurate to 40k and real life.
These are bad and somewhat insulting faces to give to any female character, plain and simple.

Yes because in a universe where corruption, genocide, famine and low standards of living for humans are a daily occurrence people funnily enough care about survival over looking good.

Humanity went through a whole-ass golden age in which a ton of genetic modification to humanity was done to make mankind less prone to mutation, among other things, as well as raising the bar on the overall appearances of men and women alike.

Those changes rippled out throughout history, even into the dark era of the 41st millenium.
Humanity's mutants are abhorred for good reason; they are an extreme rarity typically caused by unearthly degrees of exposure to radiation, potent chemical/biological pollutants or outright chaotic warp energies.

Furthermore, most such influences kill their victims if they don't praise Nurgle first, get treatment or replace the ruined bodily tissues/limbs with mechanical augmentations/appendages.
As a whole, human 'ugliness' on the outside in WH40k isn't really a thing... Outside of injuries mangling the victims or the above causes.

As such, most of those deemed mutants and heretics are humans too worthless and maimed to use in the workforce anymore, and are thus put down...
Or actual heretics or plague-bearers, whom are likewise put down with extreme prejudice.

Any actual WH40k fan or anyone whom has seen ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ media would know from the examples provided, at a glance, that Darktide's women are simply beyond redemption in terms of appearances... And not simply at the worst, but even at their best.

As some have stated, literal hive gangers (druggies and criminals prone to injury and such) range from brawny bae with a big of a thick brow and tree-like limbs to lithe and bombshell gals with some scars and cybernetic augments or limbs.

The problem here in Darktide is that, before even applying such things as burn scars or stitches to the face, before applying a blind eye... We've got a skeletal structure to the womens' faces that resembles something more Orkish in physiology than human.
