Use an Nvidia GPU? Want "free" performance? This will help!
1. Open Nvidia CP
2. Go to 3D settings
3. Enable Image Scaling
4. Select sharpness desired (20-35% is usually good) and enable/disable notification
5. Apply
6. Select resolution (you will see stuff like 85%, 77%, etc beside the new Image Scaling resolutions added. 85% is the sweet spot, everything else gets bad looking fast).
7. Launch Darktide (or any DLSS game)
8. Select desired DLSS level
9. Enjoy!

This will stack IMAGE SCALING and DLSS. Image scaling is fully supported by Nvidia, this is not some crazy EDID hack or whatever so there's no risk of damage. Worst that happens is when you select a new resolution, your monitor hates it and auto reverts if you don't do anything dumb with a black screen like keyboard mash.

It won't look as good as just DLSS Quality but you can get huge performance gains using this, even with maxed settings and still get a DLSS balanced or better looking image.

EDIT: doing this with an RTX 3080 FTW3, Ryzen 3600, 120hz 1440p monitor and 16gb of ram with maxed everything. Had around 20-60fps to 40 - 100 fps. Mileage may vary, every computer is somewhat unique.

Please report your findings! If this gets good results for multiple people it should become public knowledge!

Hey can someone please clarify for me which setting is DLSS? I cant seem to find anything called that

Last I checked my GTX 1060 doesn't even support DLSS lol

I really need that damn upgrade

Only works for Nvidia cards and not all of them, should be under graphics option. AMD and Intel have other methods, not familiar with them or if they could stack with a 3rd party Image Scaler like Magpie.

You can still get benefits, just skip the DLSS part. You choose if it's good enough or not. Easy to revert!

It only works on Nvidia RTX cards, if you have a GRX card or a card from Radeon it’ll not work

All I did was turn off raytracing. Not like i'm going to be staring into a puddle of water to see reflections anyways. I'm far too busy killing chaos infested heretics for that. I'm using a RTX 3060.

Unfortunately this played havoc with my 3080 Ti dual monitor setup; with two 1440p monitors hooked up via DP and HDMI respectively, I got locked at a low resolution and 30 hz refresh rate on the second monitor. Ah well, thanks for the tip!

There are ways around this but they involve some more advanced stuff, for my 120hz monitor I had to EDID hack it and add the hz support manually. Advanced stuff not for beginners, if you do it, it's not my fault if you mess up the hexedit lol.

He cannot use dlss with a non rtx card. Technically he could, but Nvidia wont allow it.

going to try this after testing vanilla first, using rtx 2080 super with 5120x1440 monitor

Read what I said...lol. Skip the DLSS part, get some performance gains anyhow. It just wont be as good as stacking DLSS + Image Scaling.
