-I was hoping for some sort of scythe-wielding plague marine but they've said no marines absolutely, positively ever. Ok. I guess that leaves chaos spawns then.
-Maybe some sort of lesser daemon? We could probably fight up to maaaybe a Herald of Nurgle? Heralds weren't necessarily a death sentence in Dark Heresy. Probably more of the equivalent of a Lord fight though. But they don't seem to want to do daemons for lore reasons. I think they'd be appropriate in an event battle but probably not as part of the regular horde.
-I remember someone suggested that they might have ghetto-rigged dreadnoughts kinda like the ones the hive-gangers use in Necromunda.
-Daemonhosts or chaos psykers would make good bosses, I think. Lots of ranged abilities. Nasty aura up close. Annoyingly small target profile like the ♥♥♥♥♥ from Space Marine. Something like that. No lore problems with having hosts any- and everywhere either.
-Dark mechanicum (or just plain corrupted) techpriest? Or some jointly-daemon/tech-driven monstrosity constructed by such. Starting to stretch real thin here but IG units don't have a lot of "monster" class units.
Other than that I'm at a bit of a loss. We only have traitor guard confirmed to work with so even the daemons are really iffy. It's not like we're gonna square off against a chimera or a hellhound, right? If so, I hope someone remembered the melta gun. But if they brought their basilisks, we're in trouble. The only other thing I can think of is the potential minor xenos-race that has been hinted to be a part of the "Darktide." But last time I brought that up on Reddit, I got shredded so it seems like most people dislike the idea of a custom-made, chaos-tainted xeno-race that would fit both the lore and the gameplay requirements of a horde shooter.
If they do go that route, I would expect the monster roster to be filled out from their home-brewed designs. The sky's the limit in that case.
That was an Ogryn Berserker.
The best example I've seen is right here. You can see it's smaller than the ogryn and they call it out as "mutie." Probably a regular human or a mutant jacked up on slaught or whatever Nurgley version of that they cooked up. Several other times we hear similar roars that are likely the spawn indicators and 'mutie' is the most frequent call-out but none of the other videos are as clear as this one.
Step right up, step right up!
We gotch'ya Ogryn brutes and Ogryn bulwarks! We gotch'ya Ogryn berserkers, yo' dark-tech Ogryns, yo' chem-jacked Ogryns! We gotch'ya suicide melta-bomber Ogryns!
We gotch'ya plague Ogryns, yo' blood Ogryns, yo' Ogryns'o'Change, and yo' kinky sex Ogryns! Heck, we e'en gotch'ya generic chaos Ogryn!
Ogryns o' all sorts right 'ere!

Other wise if we'd see more than just Nurgle, I could see Devoted Ogryn and Chaos Spawn for each of the Greater God
...
Just remembered we technically have thousands, probably fine.
Well I don't think that was an Ogryn... 1.48

Or it's an overweight Plague Bearer?
