Tau or Eldar would be BOSS. For 3 reasons:

1) Eldar are constantly trying to fight back the Orks, DEldar, Daemons and Nids
2) Tau are always aiming for the "greater good"
3) Humans are boring AF

Eldar have SO MANY CHOICES for classes and gear.
Tau? Crisis Suits. You're welcome.

Automatically beats "Humans and an Ogryn".

Titles for game that would focus on Eldar?
Dark Web, Craftworld, Hive Ward, Warptide, etc.

Titles for a game that would focus on Tau?
End Times, Back from the Brink, Eye of the Storm, etc.

Don't ALWAYS need the "Imperium" to save us. Plenty of Xenos who are way cooler.

The comment about the Eldar made me laugh.
90% of the Eldar try to have other races do the fighting for them.
There are very few Worldships who are aggresive and would rather fight themself, like Biel-Tan.

The only thing we will get is a nice Game of Blood Axes Orks, chopping up the enemys of the Imperium and Gork and Mork.

I agree 1000% on the Headline, i really want to play sometrhing else and i cant believe that there is not a single 3P or FP Game where you play one of the other Races. No really i even would like to play a Game where you gonna play the Drukhari Scum, just to play something else finally and that comes from someone who fu..ing hates the Drukhari the most in this Universe.

I also would like to see a Game where you play a Gene Stealer Cult with a complex evolve Mechanic in a open World Game where you have to invade a Imperial Planet, by the Emperor always when i think about this Idea my Head is going to explode by the Possibilitys that open up. I do really not understand why Developers ignore the other Races so much, its a Shame, it really is.

Im into 40K since just 4 Years or so and i started to wonder about that very soon actually, as if 40K is just about Imperium, Eldar and Orks. When Mechanicus was announced i thought "at least a bit diffrent and without Space Marines" and it worked.

Its true we had enough Imperium after that, its finally Time that the other Races have a Place in the Spotlight.

PS: To the smart guys, pls dont come up with 20 Year old Fire Warrior or other Nonsense and Excuses why this was not there or should not be there and other bla bla bla, im 41 Year old i know what i want and i know what is possible, all it takes is a Studio with the Guts and a bit Money thats all.

That is the only Thing that makes Gaming great and enjoyable, People with new Ideas and new Games. I dont need another Assassines Creed or Far Cry, no i need something truely new. Its Time that Developers finally realize the Potential of Warhammer, not just 40K, also Fantasy. The main race of WH40k are humans. Everyone else is a nice enemy. I am thinking of DOW2 Retribution ... the two previous campaigns were better. Few really want to play other races. One option might be sanctioned Xenos (more of a rogue trader thing).

Yes please, Tau would be awesome. It would also be cool if multiplayer to be able to choose an allied race to fight with as well. That way you could help diversify weapons and abilities whilst also drastically changing looks.

Eternal Crusade had its (many, many) flaws, but at least you could play Ork and spikey eared gitz.

I played Orks and it was a lot of Fun for a short Time, screaming WAAAGH is Fun for a good Portion of that Time but it gets old at some Point. It was extremly unpolished wich is not something i have neccessarely Problerms with, but when its about Shooter Mechanics and Gunplay my Tolerance is extremly low for bad Stuff, but here is ofc a Problem when it comes to Warhammer Games Specially Multiplay PvP Games. You want good ranged Comabt but also good meele Combat and managing both at the same Time while balancing it for 3 Factions, holly Molly a Nightmare i dont want for myself xD

There was already a 40K game in which you played as the Tau: Warhammer 40K Fire Warrior. It wasn't very good.

As for other 40K factions than the Imperium, an FPS in which you play as Orks or Necrons would be interesting, largely because the playstyle--especially of the latter would be quite different.

Eldar wouldn't play too differently from the Imperials--just sprint around, take cover, and shoot enemies until they die. I don't think Necrons sprint, and Orks, well... hopefully you like close combat. Greenskins would also have the best squad banter.

I really vote for Necrons Eldar or Gene Stealers, my absolute Favorite is playing a Harlequin with a Harlequins Kiss in an Doom 2016 like Game but with more Complex and bigger Levels, a bit more chilled with lots of Exploration, a bit Dark Souls like, not to hardcore (or maybe, hmm who knows).

The next Thing is a 40K Space Marine like Game were you play an Eversor. But the real Gem would be a Game about playing a Gene Stealer Cult in Coop 3P with Stealth and Evolve Mechanics in a mix of PayDay2 and NaturalSelection2, but on a huge sandbox like Map. You could play Missions against all Factions with different Map Biomes or complete different Map Settings and you first have to play careful with Stealth Infiltration and Infecton to get Resources Info and EP.

Then you slowly start to evolve and make an Assault here an there on the Map getting stronger. But the Enemys also start to enhance if they realize whats going on, they call Reinforcements from nearby Planets and so on. Holly Molly the Possiblilitys for this Idea are endless. The cool Thing is you can paly as Hybrid with small ranged Weapons or Hybrid Psyker or Stalker for Example, you could play all GS Units up to the Carnifex and similar big ones at the End Game.

I tell you this Idea makes me wet and i dont care if someone takes it and makes it real, i just wanna play it. I guess you could play it countless Hours with countless different Map and Faction Settings with 3 Friends, maybe even with PvP against others.

By the Emperor why are all Developers are sleeping, Warhammer is a Goldmine and im not talking about Money, no im talking about Ideas, im an Idiot imagine what a smart guy could do with all of this, holly Molly xD
