Please don't use EAC

I trust you to make a good game. I trust you to make a good warhammer game. I even trust you to make a good *Warhammer 40k* game. But please, for the love of god, let us play without EAC. Use VAC if you must have something, but "Easy Anti-Cheat" bricks games and forces refunds while not even actually doing its job of preventing cheating. Vermintide 2 public matches were loaded with cheaters even when the game did run properly through the EAC gauntlet, while Vermintide 1 at least still lets people play their copy of the game. You'd even hit a slightly wider audience because then the linux users could play the game, too. It's all I ask.

Im not against what you say in general, i just want to understand it first cause i play a lot of Games where EAC is involved and never had any Problem with it. Can you please be more specific and post a few Examples in Detail of what can go wrong with EAC. I never heard that EAV forced a Refund or makes Games unplayable, again i have nothing against making it VAC, i really dont care wich one they use but i want to understand it.

i think its only a linux issue, or if you cheat its clearly one of the better options

Hmm if thats true then i guess its Time that Linux works something out with EAC to make People not suffer anymore :).

Yeah, i can confirm that EAC is pretty garbo. Saw several complaints about it regarding Dead by Daylight and I was forced to refund Illinx's Black Clover game because of it.

How did you manage to clock 295 hours? It must have been super hard with your bricked and refunded game.

Haven't seen a single cheater in Vermintide 2. Guess EAC does something after all.

Hmm i can also confirm that i have never seen someone cheating in V1 or V2, there was not even a single Moment where i thought "maybe" or else not a single Moment, wich is when thinking about it afterwards really impressive according to my 30 Years of Gaming where i faced a lot of Cheaters in other and or similar Games xD

normally a basic anti cheat is all thats needed for a co-op game due to less people getting stuff out of cheating

Because I'm not one of the ones who refunded it. I stuck it out through all the BS of EAC but I haven't gotten to play the game in over a year because of friends getting fed up. Vermintide is no fun solo, so if EAC drives my friends away, and doesn't even stop cheaters in public matches, then what's the damn point of it? VAC is ♥♥♥♥, too, but at least nobody I know has ever refunded L4D2 because of it.

Yeah the most important Thing is that no matter wich anti Cheat it is, it needs to be maintained cause there are so many Hackers who make new Cheats for the Cheating Community every Day that you cant ignore it a single Day. The Problem is that even some triple AAA Companys either dont want or cant keep up with it. Thats why i have also Cheater in BF5 making a Headshot with a Plane form one end of the Map through a whole Mountain to the other End or Guys wich invisible Bayonet Charge you, ofc after a Week or so they are then gone and the Hackers write a new little Program to make them able to do it again. At Times of BF3 back then i had never thought it would be possible to see something like that in BF but yeah, Software does not only get better for Developers who have good Things in Mind. You just need to research the Term "Humanized Aimbot", its sick ...

What kind of BS? It would be more informative to describe it in detail, so maybe it could be fixed. You know, useful feedback rather than white noise. And I'm also interested to know what kinds of cheaters you encountered in vermintide 2. Maybe I just haven't noticed since you say that it doesn't stop cheaters in public matches and I played quite a number of them.

I know at least two people who stopped playing VT2 because EAC ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with their install and made the game refuse to launch.
Sure, "two people" is only a drop in the ocean compared to the number of players for this game - heck, it's even a drop compared to how many people actually have the game in my friends list - but jujging from the ammount of complaints, there is probably a fair part of the community who suffered from EAC.
(one of those two people probably used it as a pretext to remove the game, too)

I find the reason weird or maybe even suspicious. No one cares about EAC, it doesn't hammer performance, it certainly doesn't 'brick games' and if it drives your friends away, i strongly suggest you get some new friends who are less... weird. Cheating isn't a huge issue in vermintide and never was. (and if you encounter one, which I have never, you just leave.)
On top of that it's not pvp, so who really gives a ♥♥♥♥. The reason why l4d has "fewer refunds" in your opinion, is because it was a better game, a cheaper game, and free content + workshop content. So I don't understand what your deal is with EAC, I can't really find it in any of your posts, other than the complaining about how sadge EAC is. You didn't exactly clock a lot of time in to vermintide2 so i'm left confused, perhaps your friends got some good ol' cheater software installed, and that's why "they can't play it".

I'm a linux player and a huge fan of W40k. I really would like to play this game, but if it's use EAC it will be without me, if it's not I will buy it day one.

No Offense have you Guys who have Problems with Linux or EAC written to one of them to get this Problem solved? Im just curious if these Companys care about the Problem.
