And the game being "about Astra Militarum" doesn't mean anything. Ogryns are AM. Armageddon Ork Hunters are AM. Do they suck in melee? Give a Kriegsman a shovel, see what happens.
1. Will it have the same problems as V2, for example will the group lose all progress if the host leaves? Probably, this has been an issue since V1 and has never been addressed by the devs.
2. Will it have cross play? Cross play is fast becoming popular now and by the time Dark Tide is released I think all platforms will expect it. Two games I play, Dead by Daylight and World War Z, have benefited greatly from crossplay. How hard would it be for FS to implement this into their engine? I would think it is too much of a task for them and all of that work is already done in engines like Unreal and free to put into your game if you use that engine.
Didn't that fix that problem? Idk if it's because im playing recently with only 150 hours but i have yet to encounter a host leaving and losing all our progress. It usually migrates to another host does it not?
Also crossplay would be a great idea I feel as long as they give the option to turn it on and off. Darktide wont seem like the game for me to care but i do like playing with pc players or console players only in some games.
ooohh yes okay i understand now I've definitely seen the run restart usually when everyone dies. Im guesisng that was the host raging out. Although i guess ive been lucky that they dont leave at the very very end.
You get onscreen dialogue that the host is migrating but when that process completes you either end up restarting the mission or back at the keep, with a new host. I think the onscreen dialogue is a relic of when dedicated servers were on the road map.
Originally it was called BitSquid before Autodesk bought it out in hopes of somehow squeezing yet another "big" engine between UE4, Unity and Cryengine to expected results.
it is vt3 after all~
for example the source engine maybe my favorite engine of all times (yeah ik the frostbite engine) just look at black mesa and day of infamy unbelieveable
the unreal3 engine i think i dont have to say anthing about that countless good old classic games use this engine and still some modders use them for their projects with stunning examples
the engine of titan quest dont know the name but what the guys from grim dawn did with it is outstanding no doubt
i bet there are many other examples wich prove that old engine does not mean old visuals or old problems but ofc it can sure lets hope its not the case here :)
