Report a translation problem
- Added additional content to the game.
To access it, press ESC three times at the start when asked if you want to skip the intro.
(Alternatively, it's also available during New Game+)
Those who played the game before will notice a slight change right around the
time the bat transformation becomes available.
- Overhaul of the translation in many places.
- Formatting of text boxes improved. Text now uses as much of the text box as possible.
- A couple of minor bug fixes here and there.
- 50% more EXP when defeating monsters.
- Silver selling price increased by 50% as well.
- Quests also give more EXP.
- Encounter rate halved when in normal/wolf form, and reduced to 1/3 when in bat form compared to before.
- Since Alaine has the Status magic affinity, she now has a higher resistance to the
status effects "Rigor", "Silence", and "Confused".
- Some spells now cause "Rage" instead of "Confused". Rage has also been changed slightly.
It now goes away on its own after a while and Vampire Cloak now improves resistance against it.
- Vampiric rage caused by blood shortage is now its own status effect and works the same
as before. (Does not go away on its own, but can still be cured by "Total Purification".)
- Skipping the Intro now defaults to fast running speed instead of normal.
- The sequence during Valnar's escape from Asgar's castle at the beginning is now shorter.
- Mystic Ring now only provides resistance to the "Fire", "Ice", and "Poison" elements instead
of every element.
- Vampire Ring and Ancient Vampire Ring now increase the healing rate by +2/+10 respectively,
instead of +1/+2.
- The healing rate now restores HP every 2,5 seconds instead of 5.
- The "Retreat" spell now refunds its blood cost when it's used a second time.
- Wolf transformation now lasts 120 seconds from the start instead of 60.
- Eyes of the Ghosts now lasts 15 seconds + 2 seconds per Valnar's level.
- Eyes of the Ghosts now also reveals hidden places on the world map.
(Still needs to be out of bat form to enter)
- Monsters in later stages of the game now have more blood to drain.
- Most of the things that require souls have been made cheaper, including:
- Mine worker skeletons now require 3 instead of 5 normal Soulstones.
- Skeletons require 3 small Soulstones instead of 5.
- Skeleton Mages require 4 normal Soulstones instead of 6.
- Golem summon requires 8 normal Soulstones instead of 15.
- Demon summon requires 10 large Soulstones instead of 15.
(Already used up only 10, but still required 15 to use, also now
properly refunds 60 Blood instead of 50 when demon summoning fails.)
- Soul menu now uses less souls for every action. (Like getting hints, saving, etc.)
Changelog for Vampires Dawn 2:
- Once castle combat becomes available, you can speed up the castle fights in the options menu.
- Slightly improved translation.
- A couple of minor bug fixes here and there.
- Formatting of text boxes improved. Text now uses as much of the text box as possible.
- Torturing Raron can now only be done for the first time after speaking with Vincent Weynard, and for the second time after visiting the pyramid.
so I've played the VD1 one and I had a lot of fun with it. I really liked the increased XP from Monsters and Quests + increased Silver price. :) Also the faster text. Very pleasant, hehe. It was overall a much smoother experience playing the game.
The new NPC for Shannar was also great! I liked the idea that she used your silver. Gives it some more purpose than just getting Filar.
I found it interesting to have Aysha in the group and have some DoH lore in it! I was happy to have some new dialogue options that determine whether Alaine or Aysha would be with Valnar in the end! I was also glad to see Tradan not destroyed and explore it a little. Oh, my absolute favorite part was being able to get the teddy bear for Alaine!! I've always wanted to be able to do that! So thanks for that! A dream come true. XD
It's definitely a good mod and thank you for taking the time making it!
Okay, so I'm doing a second playthrough now, again with the bonus content, but I encountered a problem: After getting the bat cloak, I went to Klennar to enter Valnar's house, but when entering, Aysha is supposed to spawn but the game just gets... stuck. I have no idea why it worked the first time I played, but my friend has fixed it for me and I thought I should let you know or if anyone else has the problem.
Here's the fixed map file (remove spaces): https:// mega. nz/file/rPoTlKLD#5hqbtAadVy0T0pWDncf36Z2qjmG11bSC8W0BUMvgyRQ
Glad you liked it, always happy to make dreams come true, I guess. :)
Funnily enough, I had the same problem during playtesting while going through New Game+, though I just thought it was a bug caused by excessive saving/loarding/editing the game files. When I started a new game, it didn't happen again, so I believed the issue was resolved.
I have updated the download link to newer versions. I fixed that issue along with some other stuff I noticed during additional playtesting. At the very least, I wasn't able to replicate that
particular freezing issue, and I didn't notice any other problems, so hopefully everything should be fine now.
Please let me know if you find anything else.
Wouldn't be a big issue, but the people who'd just play it in German will probably miss out on this awesome stuff then, which is why I want to ask and confirm it's just available like this/in English, right?
But regardless of that, great work and keep it up! :)
Unfortunately yes, all those changes are currently limited to the English versions.
Implementing them into the German versions would either require reapplying all the changes from scratch, or using the English version as a base and retranslating/copy and pasting all the text back into German. So either way, it would take a bit of work.
we're trying to put together a special special edition of VD1 in german, and as I saw a lets play of your version I couldnt help but love your aysha-changes which add a whole new level of story and character quality to the game imo.
Would you possibly be okay with me translating the aysha-content and some other changes (tradan) from your version to the german special edition with full credit of course?
Hey, I'm glad to hear you liked it, and I would very much love to have it translated into German, as well. Feel free to add it to the special special edition. :)
But I have to warn you, there's quite a bit of extra dialogue, some of it pretty well hidden.
I'm afraid I don't know more about it than anyone else. Marlex hasn't responded to my previous mails regarding the updated English versions of VD1&2 or the release date of the translation for VD3, so I'm also in the dark as far as that's concerned. :(
You may wanna keep an eye on the Steam forum at the end of December.
There might be an English patch coming out soon (made by some dedicated VD fans - and maybe it's already being tested as we speak ;D).
